OGX Hydrate and Marula Oil Serum Elixir, Gold 3.8 Fl Oz

This product doesn't make your hair grow, but it tames various textures all-in-one! I am prefacing with this due to my personal experiences! This will be a long review.All hair circumstances are different and I will try my best to explain mine and why I chose to give this product a 5-star review.I have had trichotillomania for over 27 years. I started to grow my hair out March 2024 and found myself baffled by how many hair care products existed. I am plagued by having a sensitive olfactory and many products do not get used based on scent alone. I am 38 at the time of this review. Mixed hair texture due to damage, age and climate. I have both wavy, curly and straight hair. (A lot of damage from pulling it too.) I do not use heavy products, mousse, heat or styling gels. My hair is virgin "new-growth" along side a rat-tail and two side tails beside my ears that have been growing since 2020. The new growth is the main reason for this purchase.Attention: THIS DOES have a unique scent!! It's very much one of those scents that you either love, hate, or can't smell like everyone else. It's described online as intoxicating as well as "none". While other people may think marula smells like wet dog, fish or even flowers; THIS IS FINE! That is very much unintended and no company can make your genetics make this smell good. For me this smells like a flowery musk that isn't woodsy or too strong, but it does linger. It does not smell like hand lotion.This oil is very water-like with out feeling greasy, heavy or sticky. THAT made me fall in love with the product. I use this after every wash while my hair is still soaking wet and gently go from ends to root with this product. I also tend to use this the next day on DRY hair to adjust for my dry household. It saved the day more than once with a BAD product I tried recently. (This oil IS A BLESSING.) It makes my hair very fluffy, soft and somewhat tamed. I have curly/damaged hair on my neck and sides and wavy everywhere else.Pros:Light-weight oil.I think it smells "OKAY". Unlike other products.Good for ALL my hairs different textures and damage.Really smoothed out the damaged follicle growth patterns over a months time of use.This does NOT leave my hands or head feeling greasy! Awesome!Plastic bottle assures no breaking if you drop it from being greasy. (Preferred.)Cons:Your genetics may alter how this smells. No company can change that. Researched.The bottle can EASILY topple over, be careful.The "dropper cap" is NOT great. It NEEDS improved. I have to squeeze it multiple times to get the oil into the glass.The bottle can get a little greasy from use, but it does wipe off cleanly.

I LOVE THIS!!! Having fine hair that’s also super curly & frizzy (from bleaching) is a real challenge. This oil is SO light, and almost feels like water in your hands but somehow still penetrates the hair. My hair is moisturized but not weighed down AT ALL although I use it almost daily! It leaves a beautiful, subtle shine without making it heavy or greasy and it’s got a very nice, LIGHT scent. It’s effectiveness is pretty unbelievable and I plan to use it forever!!!

Received mine already opened and a good portion of it was used. It was wrapped in plastic that was soaked in the serum. I wanted to return it, but that would mean I would have to go to the UPS store with it and it was too sticky and gross so I ended up throwing it away.

Important info: I have fine straight hair, and half of it is color-treated. I LOVE this stuff, It is a godsend for those dry shampoo days where your ends need help. My hair absorbs it within an hour and it looks good all day, now this stuff is not as moisturizing as a deep conditioner or coconut oil like another reviewer said, but it is great for a pick me up! I like to build it in my hair and might apply it two or three times between washes because I don't notice any noticeable build-up.

I’ve had another marula oil product that I really liked but tried this one because it was less expensive and it said on a label it was marula. Not a mix- it isn’t pure marula and is runny. I’ll use it up, but won’t order again.. I use it on my hands and on my face
