Diagnose Vehicle Issues at Home
* Its always good to have a vehicle diagnosis scanner at home.* It helps to keep a close eye on the vehicle issues and you will never get any surprise issues.* I use this every weekend to make sure everything on my Jeep is upto date.* Its very simple and easy to use.* Plug on to OBD port and it gives live stream data/status of the vehicle.* This scanner comes with all error codes for FCA vehicles.* No subscription fee.* it will get future updates over the wifi without any fee.* You can email your report from this to anyone or your email to keep a record of that.

Great in vehicle Bidirectional Scantool
Got this to keep in my durango as the transmission is having hard shifts. This vehicle does not have the "gateway" (can security firewall) that was implemented later. I had been using a >1k scantool to do the birdirectional transmission quick learn every couple of months for about 5 years now. This is essentially a tenth the cost of that and works just as well. Cheapest standalone bidirectional tool to my knowledge.Plan to keep it in vehicle. This also provides other manufactures OBD and most CAN live data pids (graphs up to 4).X431 is a great platform, however the menus are not always intuitive and could be improved. Most of the big names are just rebranding this. No subscriptions is a huge savings. This is my second vehicle specific bidirectional x431 scantool, also have one for GM for over a year now that I keep in my truck. It would also be nice for this to have a battery built in, but for the price I can't complain at all.

This scanner rocks!
I bought this scanner with the Ram/Dodge/Chrysler preloaded and purchased the BMW and GM software separately. Let me say that I use it mostly in BMWs. I’ve used it on E36,E84, E39 and E60 chasis with great success. I considered myself an advanced DIYer and have ISTA-D for BMW diagnostics. So far, the Launch handheld has been able to perform every single diagnostic, reset, and service function available in ISTA. I haven’t fired up my ISTA laptop since I started using the Launch. I’ve been able to program several replacement modules on E39 and E60 with zero issues. It’s a fantastic tool that is worth every penny, including the additional $35 for BMW software.

Beat budget Chrysler Scan tool I’ve used!
Excellent tool for the money! I was very impressed with the bi-directional control and live data. It has a lot of features that aren’t included with some of these other budget scan tools. If you have a Chrysler vehicle this would be a great tool to keep in the glovebox or under the seat. Very compact design. Or even a great addition to you toolbox if your a professional. The Chrysler specific capabilities would definitely come in handy if you work on a lot of these vehicles.

Depends on your knowledge
This is an essential tool now days for a lot of car owners that cannot afford the prices of dealerships. However, you'd better have a good bit of automotive knowledge in systems and acronyms, as well as being a very patient person. You have to discover which system holds the task you need to perform unless you are doing the basic auto-diagnostics. I sent a question to Kingbolen about the key programming ability of this tool and have gotten no response. I also purchase this tool in the FORD version of which I submitted a question to Kingblolen of compatibility and did get an answer on that question, though that was a before the sale type question. I had already discovered the answer and ordered and received the tool by time I received the answer. I ordered an X431 Mini Pro3 2 years ago that my subscription ran out on, and I deemed it more economical to go with the Creaders and Lifetime update rather than pay out the ying yang on updates every year. Keep in mind though that all of these are from China when you expect US support, it will not be the greatest. I do plan to purchase the GM model and the Honda model of this tool, although I do hope I will find them at a reduced price being I do not use these things on a daily or even a monthly basis. Now days, I only use them on my own car repairs and close friends. I don't even own a GM product, nor do I care to, but I will get the tool to help my friends out. I rated the tool a 3 overall because it does deserve that, would be 4 if the price had been ($119) like my Ford version or a 5 if it were in the ($99 or below) range. This is my opinion, but I am only a 72-year-old retiree that has been an old school mechanic for about 50 years. I say that being I was 12 years old when I rebuilt my first tractor engine (Oliver Super 55) on the farm. Therefore, If I were a younger and more educated to the newer electronics of today's automobiles, I may have given a higher rating as well. Is the tool bad, NO!, Is the tool good, YES! Is the toll great, THAT WOULD DEPEND on your own use and evaluation. My question on the key programming may have gotten misplaced in the air of digital/electronic environment of today's world, so I'm not giving a bad name to Kingbolen. I have seen great reviews on Kingbolen support of these tools.

found lots of new codes
Whoa. Decided to upgrade my foxconn 2020 ish OBDB II reader with this one. This launch for 10 more codes that the other didnt like front door sensor, liftgate and more. And it had the ability to clear them so I can see if they are old codes and recent ones. Wifi updated the software. Took awhile as its the old 802.11A protocol. Got a free extension cord and a free case but using an Amazon promotion.
