The kettle doesn’t always lift itself free from the base, creating a dangerous hazard!If you open the lid after boiling to refill for example, boiling water drips onto your hand!

Defective - it did not switch itself off. The light went out when the water boiled, but the switch clicked a couple of times and stayed on, even if you'd lifted the kettle, poured and put it back again. With the result that after a few minutes the kettle started to boil itself again. This could be dangerous, if you'd used all the water in the kettle. It should not be reliant on your switching it off at the wall and unplugging it, as per the instructions - who does that with a kettle? Plus the returns process gives you the runaround, the Tesco drop-off point said the QR code Amazon sent did not exist. Choose another make is my advice, by a name you've heard of.
