I thought texture wasn't as crisp and it wasn't a presliced pickled radish

Sorry, not what I bargained for
This is a staple food from much of Asia. In Japan, the Daikon is crisp, crunchy and never soft. Sad to think that current makers of this condiment has forgotten their ancestors and consistency.

Not anything like what you get at a sushi restaurant.
I bought this thinking that since takuan is daikon radish, it'd be the same as the daikon radish I get at sushi restaurants. It's not. This tastes and smells like sauerkraut, not the citrus-y stuff I was expecting.
