Thick oil. Beautiful finish
I got a bottle of this to coat two yakisugi (burnt wood) doors I made from standard white pine sourced from a lumber yard. Basic premise is make doors, sand, burn, sand again, coat with oil (or some chemicals). As I'm trying to be more environment minded, and as recommended by a number of carpenters on YouTube I was looking for a nice quality Linseed oil. Stumbled upon this, tried a bottle, am very impressed - it's a very thick product. I semi expected a more watery thin oil (like cooking oil, ha) but it's more of a consistency like clear honey (but not sticky). It takes a day or two to soak into the wood and does "darken" the wood slightly. Hard to describe as it's not actually darkened as such but the colour (burnt wood in my case!) is just more "pronounced".After it's had time to soak in, the finish is dry but smooth and brings out the grain wonderfully (sanded burned wood has a beautiful dark grain!)The bottle isn't cheap but as always, you get what you pay for. I will definitely buy more of this. Plus the metal bottle will be great to reuse for anything really! (Once well-cleaned out)

Simple to use and not strong smelling 25o ml nearly did 1 coat on 2 doors
Hubby can't stand strong smells so although another wood oil is my usual preferred method, I had to do the new doors downstairs with this. It darkens the pale new cut wood slightly but the grain comes out beautifully.Quite viscous so far fewer drips than with the other type of finish I used on the upstairs doors. No noticeable smell and washed off hands.i had 6 Belize style doors installed and ordered a 250 ml bottle to see if it suited. This did nearly 4 sides i.e. nearly 2 doors.I was using a sponge brush to get into the grooves and then sponging/ buffing the rest. Don't think I'd use just a cloth as it hardly seemed to spread any oil, just soaked it up, when I tried that method. Think I'll use a clean brush next time as the sponge brush came apart.Just ordered a larger bottle to finish/ do a 2nd coat and have for retouching coats in years to come.I think it does need a 2nd coat as a few plcs theres a slight sheen where it has filled up the wood more but in others its duller where it obviously soaked right in. I'll use a denibbing pad between coats as suggested
