GermGuardian Air Filter B Smoke Clear, Genuine HEPA Replacement Air Purifier Filter for AC4825, AC4800 Series, AC4900, CDAP4500 & AP2200, FLT4825SM, Black/Gray

I have some neighbors who smoke weed and even with the windows closed some smoke comes in from the outside through the air conditioner in the bedroom. The bedroom is approximately 350 Sq ft. I placed my guardian in the bedroom on level 2, and the smell goes away fairly quickly. Don't know how long the filter will last, but so far so good.

I found out that you can only use the official Germ Guardian filter for this purifier like it says to do. I tried the ones that say they fit the Germ Gaurdian that were a little cheaper but they are too thick and will cause the purifier to get too hot then it will smell like its burning. Always follow your instructions.

I have a GermGuardian model AC4825E. I ordered a replacement filter to have on hand in 2022, but because the wildfire smoke was not as bad as expected, I did not open the filter until it was past its return date. When I did, I found that the new filter had two new ridges at the top and the bottom that prevent the safety switch from engaging when the filter is in place. Super annoying. I eventually filed them down and installed the filter so that the switch was engaged and the filter would run. ...but the "Change Filter" light blinked red non-stop, despite having installed a brand new filter. When I removed the new filter and put in the old, dirty filter, no blinking red light, no problem running. Put the new filter in and the change filter light immediately comes on. Oh well. I know the filter is new. I'll just use it anyway.Fast forward to this new filter. I assumed that I had been the victim of a now-ubiquitous Amazon scam where fake products get mixed with real products and that if I ordered a new OEM filter, I would get the real thing. Guess what? Same stupid issue. Two little tabs at the top and the bottom make the filter unusable in an unmodified form. This time I placed a tiny felt tab over the spot where the safety switch needs to be disengaged, but guess what? The change filter light is still blinking. What a crock!

I purchased this hoping that since it was the brand name that it would work like it did back when I first bought my air purifier. I thoroughly clean my Air Purifier as well before I change the filter. However, I only have one small dog and this thing only worked for about 2 weeks. It's complete garbage I have better luck with the competitors filters. Very disappointed in Germ Guardian.
