it makes very good popcorn! You don't need to add any butter ...
After a lot of research I bought this as a gift for my bf last christmas because it was cheap (~ยฃ3) & had a piece of silicon in the bottom to protect the plastic from heat damage. It does what it says on the tin, and if I saw another at the same price I'd buy it again in a heartbeat! Once you've figured out the right cooking time for your microwave, it makes very good popcorn! You don't need to add any butter or oil but we found popcorn can taste a bit bland without. The size is a bit mean for more than one person, but it's so convenient you will find yourself making popcorn every time you turn the tv on - so maybe that's no bad thing! If you do want to make more, you can use it twice in a row - but be aware it can get quite hot & this may increase the risk of damaging the plastic. The cooking time also starts to add up, so if you're planning on making popcorn for more than one person regularly you may want to consider the lekue popcorn maker instead which has a greater capacity. Another issue was that after a few uses the lid of the popcorn maker warped slightly, making it not fit quite so well, but many many uses later it's still working fine, and the pop rate is generally a bit lower than when we make it in a pan. However you can put the unpopped kernels back in the microwave and give them another go if you don't like waste, there's just a risk of they'll get a bit burnt. It did take a couple of attempts to work out the right cooking time/method, so don't be disheartened if this happens to you! Our method for using it is as follows:- place off centre in microwave & heat for two minutes- add 1 or 2 tsp of butter/margarine & heat for a further 20 seconds to melt- shake, add flavouring (we generally use salt or sugar), shake again but not too vigorously or the flavour will come out the vents in the lid!- ready to serve! All in all a great budget microwave popcorn maker!

My microwave is too small
I should have measured the microwave first. It's totally useless for me.

Don't waste your money
The lid is hard to fit. V small amount of popcorn....since it leaves many kernels unpopped. Nearly set fire to it twice with burnt popcorn. Really don't waste your money

Lid doesn't fit anymore
The lid doesn't fit anymore and initially struggled to get it to stay on. Now it doesn't fit at all no matter how much I struggle.
