I've long been a fan of Stephanie Pui-Mun Law's fantasy art, and this is one of my favorite paintings. I'm always misplacing my bookmarks, so when I saw this, I had to order it.The colors seem a little brighter, more saturated than the original painting, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. There's metallic gilding in places, highlights on the mermaid's jewelry and the seaweed, which adds a pretty sparkle. It's shipped inside a protective sleeve, so you can keep it safe when you're not using it.My only complaint is the tassel. It's kelly green, which doesn't match the colors of the bookmark. Plus, there's a really large bead attached above the tassel, which is a bit awkward.Other than that, it's a great bookmark! I would definitely buy more, if they did other paintings by Stephanie. I'll give it four-and-a-half stars, rounded up to five for the sake of fairness. Highly recommended. Would make a great gift for any mermaid-lover!

1: I love the picture. One of the best of a mermaid I have ever seen.2: this brand of bookmark is sturdy and very well made.It is a bit spends but well worth the price. It will last a long time.I have 2 plus the 2 dragon ones and a peacock.I usually have about 4 books going at once so they get used regularly.

Both my daughter and I love bookmarks and this is one of the prettiest we have found in the Peter Pauper Range (which are consistently good). It contains a glorious mermaid, with swirling red hair and a beautiful green tail, which sweeps across the bottom of the bookmark. The colours are all greens and red and muted yellows; with nice details - seaweed, a seahorse and fish.There is a green tassel and a pretty green bead. The detailing is lovely and the illustration is really lovely. I always love to use nice bookmarks when I read and my daughter has become as addicted as me, so I had no alternative but to buy two of these!
