it doesn't come with two bases as shown that's holding the candle it's just another use for the one base. other than that it's still cute , minimal .

looks nice
I love to burn incense, but with the traditional incense holder there is usually always a mess after burning a stick. I love the look of this incense holder and it is very attractive, and I like that it is something different than the traditional. The idea that the ashes will fall into the bowl is a good one, but it doesn't always work that way, as sometimes there is some ash that misses the bowl. But, I would say that it is cleaner than the traditional holder. The metal post was difficult to push all the way into the hole and the post is a bit wobbly, but I have pushed it into the hole as far as it will go. The retail price is a little high by a few dollars, in my opinion, but with that said, I think that the alligator clip is a great design for holding the incense, as I have noticed that not all of these types of holders have a clip, but some other kind of design that isn't as reliable and easy to use. Over all, I think this is a good buy and a lovely looking incense holder which really does cut down on mess, and the alligator clip is a great design. If you enjoy burning incense and are tired of the mess, and you would like something that also looks nice, give this a try.

A better design
I have recently heard that burning a candle is not good for the human nor the animals to breathing in. Something toxic. I can't remember what though, so sorry about that, so I thought I would try incense sticks. But I could never find a holder that would be designed so that as it burns it doesn't make a mess. Well, you don't have to look any further because that's exactly what this incense holder does. It sits on a wooden base and then on that base you put your little brass bowl and then the brass arm goes into the little slot next to the brass bowl on the wooden stand. Give it a little push and I'll go right on in and it's pretty dang sturdy. I love the alligator clip on it because this allows for so many different sizes of incense sticks to be burned. It does come with a little cleaning brush which I thought was an adorable little afterthought. It is easy clean once you have ashes in your bowl. And because the instant stick hangs upside down it burns better even though it's a little faster, it still burns better and you don't have to worry about it staying lit. If you have the cones you could easily put them inside the little brass bowl. I have had several incense burners through the years but I must say as time went on the designs got so much better. I do have the long wooden stick as a burner but it's not comparable for all sizes but this one is because of that alligator clip. Definitely make a great gift but you'll have to buy incense sticks separately. This one did not come with any which I thought would be a great bonus but alas it did not. But that's okay I have about 50 different ones and now I will get to use them up. This is not something you would want to put were an animal or a child could getting contact with especially if it's burning. The best thing about this is if it does end up hit the ground it's not going to shatter and break. The worst it'll happen is you'll have a dent in your little brass bowl. Definitely worth every bit and I'm so excited that I'm going to actually get to burn all of these incense that I have laying around. I definitely recommend this and if I had to I would buy this again but I only need one. Very easy to clean and assemble. It is very dainty looking but it's very durable and sturdy. I am very pleased and I know that you would be too.

The most sturdy thing I own.
I love smell-good stuff. All of it: candles, plug-ins & sprays, wax melts and sachets, perfumes, colognes, body wash, lotion, hair products, laundry products (Snuggle Blue Sparkle dryer sheets), brewing coffee, fresh baked apple crisp or brownies, essential oils & oil blends... if it smells good to me, I want it!...and my favorite scent hack: scraping out the remaining wax after using up a well-loved candle and, after melting it and removing any leftover burnt wick-ickies, putting it in an empty salve tin and using it as a pulse point fragrance. Tread lightly if you do that, as it's very concentrated (but the beeswax or soy wax is very skin softening... winter elbows, anyone?)But through & through, my all time favorite scent delivery system is incense, in all of her delectable fragrances & forms. Sticks, cones, backflow cones, resins, powders, saps & compressed wood shavings (piñion sap is to die for, as is hand-harvested Palo Santo dead wood). For stick incense, I now have this holder. It's beautiful, solid, easy to clean, holds both types of sticks firmly, and cleverly takes advantage of unused vertical space. The day this came in the mail, I wasn't even through a full stick of my favorite incense (Nag Champa Super Hit) when I tossed my very old and worn clunky incense box.If one can be in love with an incense holder, then (1) that's weird and (2) I freely admit that I'm fully smitten. It's a warm brushed pinkish-coppery-bronze (aka: rose gold) bowl that sits in a silky smooth wooden tray, to which is firmly attached a tall, thin metal upside down "L" rod with a roach clip screwed on (and probably crimped & soldered) to hold the thinnest of incense stick wood ends. That clip isn't going anywhere!I am certain that, if I'm careful not to lose it, this incense stand will outlive me... and I'm only 50. I won't place bets on that, but only because I wouldn't be around to collect all of my winnings. :)If you love incense & well crafted, useful decorative objects, get this thing!
