Q: How would one go about making it so the fan doesn't get overheated since my woodstove top runs on an average of 700 degrees?

That's a tough one, since my stove never gets that hot. Maybe you could make a metal stand that the fan could sit on and allow some air flow underneath it to help cool the fan some??? Good luck.

That happened to me after 2 months also. I contacted customer service Amazon and it was replaced

It should work as long as there is enough clearance to sit the fan on TOP of the stove so that the fan can blow the heat into the room. See the fan dimensions listed in the details. Note that this fan does not blow air with the force of an electric fan, but it works well... even when the electricity is out or where an electric fan cannot be used (like on top of a hot stove). It is worth it IMHO. I use it on top of my kerosene heater.
