I bought this a few years ago as I'd done the K2 basecamp trek and had heard this was a recommended read.A severe let down - the text seems to focus on a large degree of bickering between various cliques and as such is neither interesting nor enjoyable.

This was recommended to me from a colleague and self-professed "arm-chair mountaineer" since he knew I do outdoorsy things (but not as "hard core" as those in this book). Really liked the book. Inspiring and invokes dreaming of planning a mini-"expedition".....we'll see ;-) Oh, and book arrived in great condition. Would order again.

Arrived early. My brother recommended this book since he was an avid mountain climber.

This book is very different from most of the many other mountaineering books I've read in that it deals openly with the group dynamics ( or lack thereof) of the expedition as well as the other usual inputs. This doesn't detract at all as it presents a much more rounded view of the trip. Good climbing parts and excellent photography and maps too. Well worth a read and a nice addition to the library.

Love this book. Purchased because my nephew has one and I wanted my own. Photos are wonderful, wish I could see this. K2 is on my bucket list of things to see,(ranked higher than Everest). Met my expectations for a used book.

This is a classic mountaineering book, and it is signed!! Book in great condition. Reading it now, don't want to put it down.
