Yes, these last longer than conventional ice packs. Recommended.
After using these in a not so hot June/2026 in southern Ontario, I do have an opinion on this product. Iโve typically used ice packs from hardware stores and premium brands such as Yeti. I find they are all similar. I tried the Arctic Ice Tundra brand, which claims longer frozen life, but wasnโt overly impressed. So I have Cooler Shock a try. I can definitely say, these last longer. I have often thrown similar sized Yeti packs into my cooler along with these Cooler Shocks. The Yetiโs turn back into liquid form, while the Cooler Shock become like soft mushy ice, but still emanating plenty of cold power from their packs. Iโve repeated this test several times, also making sure both brands of packs had been frozen for days, to keep things fair. So, I am impressed with this product. I canโt say this is a scientific breakthrough of sorts, or should be newsworthy. But, the Cooler Shocks last a little longer than comparably sized cooler packs from other brands I have tried, especially Yeti, which is one of my preferred go-to brands just because itโs a quality made ice packs. As such, I canโt do much else but recommend these. Granted the product puts you in a situation where you have to activate the function on a one time only basis by adding the correct amount of water per pack. But they do include a cool little funnel with the packs you get. When they arrive, they are dry and empty of liquid. They contain some crystal -like substance in each bag, heard by shaking it. One filled with tap water to the correct volume, they have made a clever cap that permanently seals the nozzle (twice actually) to prevent water from escaping. I like the sizes they come in. The small guys are perfect for small lunch style hand carry coolers and of course the large ones are the ones you put in your cooler chests for camping or the like. Whether these were invented by a scientist, or entrepreneur, I donโt really care, as long as they remain safe to use and work longer as I have experienced. They do last longer from my experience and when they do eventually become soft, are absolutely fantastic to use as ice-packs on injuries against different parts of our bodies, as they can be shaped to the contours around bone and the curves and shapes we all have. Just wrap in a microfiber cloth. Iโm giving these my thumbs up and am recommending them.

Worth your literal money!
I bought these because my fiance and I needed to start bringing lunch into work as good prices are just getting ridiculous to eat out. So, I bought the cooler pack and the lunchbox pack. These packs are amazing! Differences in use. I work in an office with limited fridge space and my fiance is someone who works outside a lot so a fridge isn't always available. So, saying this!!! The cooler packs are his, they keep his food cold for at LEAST 10 hours. By the time he is home his lunchbox isn't warm inside but it isnt as cold, but keep in mind he leaves his lunchbox in a hot car. I'm sure in the winter it'll be MUCH better, but it keeps his food cold for when it's time to eat and that's all that matters. Which he doesn't leave the lunchbox inside his hot car, the lunchbox is still very much cold when he brings it home. My experience with my lunchbox pack, again. My situation is different. I am inside a building where there's AC in the summer and heat in the winter. Pampered over here. So my lunchbox sits on my desk and I take my food out as I want it throughout the day. I USUALLY have a breakfast yogurt, a energy coffee drink and a protein shake. Sometimes I have veggies and fruits and hummus as well. The ice packs, I use all five, freeze my protein shake LOL! Sometimes my yogurt. I can put something in there that's warm and by the time I want it, it's COLD. My lunchbox feels like a literal fridge sometimes a freezer. Idk if it's the combination of the ice packs and the lunchbox, but I am VERY satisfied.

Super cold lasts a longtime
These are hands down the best ice packs and I've tried out about 30 types. I use these every day for migraines. They last for several days in a well made cooler like yeti or igloo. They last maybe 2 days with a couple of them in fabric coolers in the open they last several hours. I shaped them more into a roll shape to use behind my neck. I actually got frostbite last summer from one of them they are that cold. Of the 5 of them I bought several years ago, only one has finally leaked and that's years of everyday use

Colder than Ice with Less Mess
These cooler ice packs work great! I used to throw Ziploc bags filled with ice from my freezer into my cooler, but I would always end up with a pool of water at the bottom. Soggy food is not appetizing! The description states that these cooler packs are actually colder than ice. While I didnโt measure the temperature myself, I did notice that my fingertips seem to โburnโ more from these packs than from regular ice, so they definitely feel extremely cold. The reason Iโm giving them 4 stars instead of 5 is that I donโt think they stay cold for the full 8 hours advertised, even when used in my Coleman Pro cooler. That said, I may need to pre-cool my cooler before using the packs, as Iโve read that doing so can help with ice retention. One thing I really like is that I can strategically place the packs between and on top of my food to maximize cooling. Theyโre also much more convenient and create far less mess and cleanup compared with using loose ice. My mom liked them so much that she bought the 5-pack for herself. She uses them in her cooler bag when she goes grocery shopping. Overall, I highly recommend these for anyone who wants the cooling power of ice without the hassle and mess. I would definitely buy them again, and Iโm even considering getting the larger hard-plastic version for my other cooler.

Happy Customer! Cooler Shock Ice Packs are everything they advertise.
I was skeptical about whether these ice packs would perform as advertised but after using them for one week I can say they are absolutely the best ice packs I've ever used. The pack fits in my lunch cooler perfectly and my drinks stay much colder than they've ever been.

Finally - the best cooling pack, now available in lunch bag size! 12+ hours - test results here.
If like me, you have been waiting for Cooler Shock to release a small-size version of their cooler pack for lunch bags, wait no longer - this is what you need in your life right now. Two months ago after I bought the medium pack ( 4 Mid Size Cooler Freeze Packs 10"x 9" - No More Ice! Cooler Shock Replaces Ice & Reusable. You Add Water & Save! ) and discovered arguably the best cooling pack on Amazon (don't take my word for it, read the reviews over on that product page), I came across a comment left by a Cooler Shock rep that they are working on a small size suitable for lunch packs, and I have been waiting patiently ever since. The medium pack is unparalleled in its performance - after an entire day at the office, I'll come home and my drink is still frozen. The issue that I and many others had was that the medium pack is a tiny bit too large in both dimensions for lunch bags - I had to fold the edges in to get it to fit. Well the solution is finally here. This lunch bag size cooling pack is the best of all worlds: - It uses the same tried-and-true material as other Cooler Shock packs: a phase-change material that can absorb an enormous amount heat without itself warming up. - The screw cap seal is the easiest to set up by far: prepping 4 medium packs with an iron took me almost an hour; by comparison, I had all 5 small packs set up in 10 minutes. - Unless you have a lunch bag for ants, this size will fit all lunch bags. If you can put a typical-sized tupperware in your lunch bag, this cooler pack will fit. - I've used it for a few days now and can confirm 10 hours of cooling. If you work a typical 9 - 5, that's more than enough to keep food at a safe temperature all day long from fridge (morning) to fridge (evening). It won't have the same 24 - 48 hour cooling duration as the medium pack, but that's overkill for lunch bags anyway. The only downside I can think of: - Not ideal for use in ice chests. But that's what the medium and large versions of the Cooler Shock are for anyway. If you have used Cooler Shock's other packs in the past, you know how good they are, and you won't be disappointed in the lunch bag packs. ==EDIT== I've now tested the Cooler Shock in an insulated lunch bag, sitting in a room kept at 70ยฐF, monitored with a thermocouple - see the results in the picture. The ice pack started from the freezer at 4ยฐF, reached 32ยฐF at 10.1 hours, and reached 40ยฐF (the maximum recommended temperature for keeping food refrigerated) after 12.2 hours - corroborating reviews from others reporting the ice packs lasting up to 12 hours.

3/5 worked as they should
3 out of 5 stars, because only 3 out of the 5 in the pack had enough powder to turn to gel. 1 seemed like it had no powder, and water didn't gel at all. Another only had enough powder to partially gel.

Packaging not tough but enough
Keeps cold for half the stated time Better than ice but bags are not as sturdy as the plastic counterparts

The perfect cool pack!!
Brilliant!! I used these packs to keep pumped breast milk cold overnight in a cool bag and in my nappy while out and about. I have also used them to keep a dozen or so bags of breastmilk frozen while travelling. I use 2 of the packs overnight in a cool bag and the breastmilk is ice-cold - cold enough to put straight into the fridge. I use 1 pack in the front zip section of my backpack-style nappy bag that holds 3 bottles of breastmilk. The great thing about these packs here is that they are soft when room temperature so I mould them to fit into the small front compartment and then freeze - normal rigid ice packs donโt usually fit. I have used all 5 in my cool bag to keep my breastmilk bags frozen on 2 trips lasting 3 hours - they were still frozen solid at the end of both trips!! When I first read the info on these packs, I was worried that the breastmilk would freeze if a bottle was in contact with them. Luckily this has not been the case as you can control the amount of cooling with the number of packs. These cool packs have taken away so much of the hassle of expressing and storing breastmilk - one less stressor as a new mum!!

Fantastic Purchase!
It works exceptionally, I am really happy for my purchase. I tried to find the best cost/effectiveness and this was the result, it made me discover that the lunch bags we have has bad insulation. They are exceptionally cold for a minimum of 12 hours (in bad insulation) so I'm excited to use these in coolers for summer camping. Thank you so much for making a great product that's also fun to make! No regrets for this purchase.
