King Arthur as Archetype
Comments below are on selected articles:I already had a sketchy knowledge of “Dr. David Livingstone: White Male Hero of History.” . A fairly common greeting among kids when I was growing up was, “Dr. Livingstone, I presume?” referring to the mysterious African explorer and missionary. But the details in this lavishly-illustrated article by Carolyn Emerick were a treat. I did not know, for example, the major roll Livingston played in the anti-slavery movement. Quoting:“Livingstone returned to Britain, published his accounts, and gave lectures to a horrified public. The white-European British public was outraged by the firsthand accounts Livingstone provided. He illustrated his observations with drawings and examples of torture devices that Arab slavers inflicted upon their slaves.”* * *Christopher Pinard’s “Sir Gawaine & the Green Night: European Christo-Pagan Synthesis” makes connections between the beheading scene (and much else) in this famous Arthurian legend and a much earlier era in Northern Europe when, according Greek historian Strabo, writing of the Celts, severed heads were not uncommon: “There is also that custom, barbarous and exotic, which attends most of the northern tribes, when they depart from the battle, they hang the heads of their enemies from the necks of their horses, and when they have brought them home, nail the spectacle to the entrance to their houses.”* * *“The Once and Future King: Arthur as Archetype,” also by Ms. Emerick, defines archetype as a figure “that appears repetitively within the collective creations of a culture.” That is, an archetype is a figure that appears in a culture’s myths, legends, fairy tales, ballads, poetry, literature and other forms of art.The Arthur archetype embodies “the kingly ideal who rises to the occasion when his or her people are in dire need.” Arthur is “The Once and Future King” because, according to legend, he will return to save his people in their mortal danger. There have been many “Arthur archetypes” in European history. An example is King Alfred the Great of Wessex who led the Anglo-Saxons against a Danish invasion in the ninth century. Many saviors of their people were complex characters, such as Vlad Tepes, better known as Vlad the Impaler, who stopped an Ottoman Turk invasion of Romania in the 15th century, and Arminius, a German hero who massacred an invading Roman army (three Roman legions) in the Teutoburg Forest in the 1st century AD.The subtitle of the concluding section is “Arthur’s Avatar Must Rise Again.” “We need the Arthur archetype right now,” says Ms. Emerick, “Perhaps in a bigger way than ever before.”* * *In “The Questing Soul of Western Man,” Joshua Hamm asks what was it about Europeans that made them so dynamic, that drove them ever onward — whether in search for knowledge, gold, adventure, glory, and reputation? Hamm dismisses the Marxian economic arguments of academia: “Marxist theories of exploitation . . . with their goal of darkening Europeans’ and their descendants’ historical connection and admiration for the amazing accomplishments of their nation’s great explorers.”Instead, the source of European dynamism is that which is all but ignored “in the modern understanding of history,” says Hamm, "the ideal of the adventurer . . . The adventurer was a man of action. A man who is driven on a quest for glory and, more than wealth, reputation and fame that went with accomplishments and glorious deeds in battle as well as his wanderlust. In the history of the ancient Indo-Europeans, there was a widely distributed ideal of glory in battle, deed, honor, and achievement; a meritocracy of the best.”Another fine, provocative issue of Europa Sun.

Whether you are european or not and would like to learn more about a part of history
I noticed another reviewer said this is "Nazi propaganda, passing as European folklore". I just don't see how that can be true. Whether you are european or not and would like to learn more about a part of history, THEN BUY THIS MAGAZINE. But don't pretend you've read it if you haven't.Definitely better made than a store bought magazine, chock full of lore and history, stemming from Ancient Britain all the way to present day American southern culture. Most of the authors hold degrees in ancient lore. It is an amazing look into white culture and the wealth of knowledge bestowed as well as learned.I will be buying the previous issue, as well as the next.

Another terrific issue!
So far the first two issues of this magazine have been fantastic. Nice range of styles and subject matter. Fewer typos. And I know the editor has a real passion for the subject, having risked her entire career to save her people. This magazine is a wonderful tribute to our folk and I am grateful to her for bringing it to us! Thanks C.E.

I have Vol. 1 & 2. Simply put, WOW. Much praise to Ms. Emerick and the crew. These magazines are very well put together and contain stunning pictures and artwork. There's not only interesting and important articles and history lessons, but nice little treats like poetry as well. Thanks and keep up the great work.-Shane

Enjoy for it's beauty & truth!
Outstanding quality product. The artwork and the compilation of content is ideal for truthseeking readers. After actually READING the material with focused attention, fact checking aspects that were new to me, it became blatantly obvious the very few lower rated reviews were by those who admitted to skimming, or suffer from anti-Western-culture indoctrination.
