Exerz 32cm Relief Globe Illuminated with Cable Free LED Light -

Bought this globe after lot of research & studying reviews. Bought for our grand daughters 6th birthday. She loves it a do her parents! The globe is sturdy and visually attractive. The writing is clear and easy to read. Had some concerns as one review mentioned the mountain features was not a relief topography, merely a photo image, and another the light for looking at the globe in the dark was not very bright. We found the topography was raised and a good feeling when touching the outline of mountain ranges. The back light for the globe is good and bright. You have to fit the batteries with care! Overall, we are very pleased with the globe, have no misgivings about buying it and would gladly buy another one for our other grand daughters.

We love it, it is the right size and relief adds that final touch no doubt.

The globe is reasonably sturdy. The base could be a little heavier to make it more stable. The installation of the two batteries requires the use of a small cross-head screwdriver. Fortunately, I have a set of jeweller's screwdrivers but might be tricky if you do not have something similar. The globe lights up with a political map. The results were dim when I used freshly charged rechargeable batteries and only visible in a totally dark room. Using alkaline batteries enabled the globe to be viewed properly in a daylight lit room. The biggest disappointment came when loading the app on my phone. It does not work on all versions of Android and so would not work on my tablet. It took a while to load and install and although I did not experience the problems with giving the password or selecting the language that others have reported, the app is atrocious. It is not really augmented reality as it just superimposes some graphic on top the view from the phone or tablet's camera with no reference to the position or orientation of the globe. The information portrayed by the app is limited and a very strange choice of subjects - relatively rare animals and unheard of explorers. A total waste of time and detracted from the pleasure of receiving the globe. The globe itself is satisfactory. Do not waste time loading the appalling app.

Well it's certainly big, bigger than a football and despite some reviews, ours was definitely a relief globe which adds immeasurably to its appeal. 5 Year old son was really taken with it, so for that reason alone was worth every penny. Unlit, it shows the physical world - deserts, mountain ranges etc, lit, the political world - countries. I wasn't expecting too much from the app but he was very taken with it, once you've scanned a continent with your phone you can choose a variety of different options which as you move the phone around shows you animals, plants etc from that part of the world. Probably not that helpful or interesting to most adults but it's obviously aimed at younger children and for that it really does hit the mark. Takes 2 AA batteries and it does require a certain amount of care to replace these, after all its a large hollow ball but is not too difficult. I would certainly recommend this to any parent of a child with even a passing interest in geography or the rock which we live on.

Loved this globe, it lights up and looks amazing, is a great size and I love the the fact that it is not smooth-built up where there are mountains etc. It’s just not very durable, had only been out of the box for a day and it split down the middle exposing a sharp edge.

Where do I start? If you read most the reviews they are mostly good - however that was NOT my experience. When the pacage was deliverd I noticed stright away how light it was - that (to me) means CHEAP! I unboxed it and put it together. When I spun it it wobbled from side to side - that annoyed stright away. I put 2 AA batteries in to power the internal lamp & when I turned it on PATHETIC - only half the globe is light! It gets worse!! Its on-line discription says.... "When you turn the light on the globe displays the political map of the world" Mine certainaly DID NOT! Their was damage too - part of the outer skin was ripped! I also found a lot of the text on the globe fuzzy/ blurred! This globe is an OVERPICED cheap childs toy - I might have kept it if it wasent for the facy I paid £40/$50 for it. I am glad to report though that Amazon have been very prompt to reimburse me after returning this DEADFUL product. DO NOT WASTE YOURE MONEY ON THIS GARBAGE GLOBE!!

Wanted a globe as my 4yr old had been learning about planets. Globe looks great lit up. A bit difficult to read some of the country names due to the size but as expected. The relief aspect is great for seeing the mountains. The app is also a great unexpected addition . The app is bit clunky and not that intuitive but once you get the hang of how it works the augmented reality is great - overlaying animals from various parts of the world and zooming them in and out on the iPad. Well worth the money imo.

The globe was sent before the estimated delivery date and came in a very well packaged box the globe is of great quality and look clear with and without the light on.

Product arrived damaged (warped and split along middle) and no replacement was offered.

Pros: Up to date as far as South Sudan existing, beautiful and easy to interpret coloration and dimensional topography, loads of info that's easy to read (both text and even warm/cold ocean currents), and the light-up political boundaries feature allows it to convey that much more info without being overly cluttered. Cons: So unbelievably lightweight (especially the base) that I'm afraid it will overbalance and fall over if I look at it wrong, and it seems disturbingly delicate all over. It was a nervous operation, partially disassembling it to put batteries in and then reassembling. I'm shocked at how much it costs, given the quality (and amount) of materials in it. Beautiful and very informative, but terrible durability.

Der Halter des Globus war beim Auspacken bereits aus dem dafür vorgesehenen Loch gerutscht und hatte auf dem Globus Dellen und Kratzer verursacht. Die Qualität schien mir aber so wie so nicht besonders gut zu sein. Wer Qualität erwartet sollte wohl tiefer in die Tasche greifen.
