One of our childhood favorites from 50+ years ago
To this day I still feel so sorry for poor little hairy at the beach looking through all the umbrellas trying to find the umbrella that belongs to his family! Simple transaction, your delivery, would buy from them again.

Great Harry adventure!
An excellent Harry the Dog book where he joins the family on a beach adventure and finds silly trouble in only a Harry way possible. Ignore anyone saying its rude, the book is perfect, my 2 year old loves it.

Liked, but not as much as Harry the Dirty Dog
Bought this for my grandson after seeing how much he likes Harry, the Dirty Dog. This book is good, but Dirty Dog is still his go to book.

Great classic Reading!
All of the Harry books are great reading, but this is my personal favorite. Harry gets lost at the beach when he wanders too far away and can't find his family back because the entire beach is dotted with protective umbrellas like the one his family has! This chronicles his fun, and scary time finding his family back. Cleverly illustrated solely in green and yellow/orange the Harry books are standouts in kids reading. My kids love all of Harry's adventures, this is the funnest, because of the setting. Thank goodness someone had the sense to republish these books and market them for today's audience! No scouring old bookstores for dogeared copies, they are sold right on Amazon in crystal-clear copy!

Harry is hilarious. I’m PC, I just left the word fat out because it says Harry follows a fat lady.
I read this as a child, I read it to my children. It does say that Harry follows a fat lady, I just left the word fat out when reading it to them. Harry is following her for shade. It’s adorable. I love all the Harry books.

Calls a Lady Fat, Stick to the Original Harry
My daughter (and I) fell in love with Harry the Dirty Dog. She saw the other books listed on the back over of her copy and repeatedly asked for this one. I wished I had read the reviews or checked out from the library before purchasing. This book is not at all as cute, wholesome, or witty as the first book. First of all, Harry's family isn't very nice to him and later, he follows a "fat lady" to stay in her shade and she has some choice words for him. I changed a lot of words when reading this book and my daughter is learning to read, so that's confusing to her and she wants to know why. She was so excited to get this book, but I feel like we might quickly remove it from our rotation.

"He didn't look like a dog any more - he looked like something from the bottom of the sea."
When I was a child, I absolutely adored Harry the dog, and I was delighted to find him still in print nearly forty years later. My husband is a great fan too, so I recently bought a new copy of 'Harry by the Sea', partly for old time's sake and partly to introduce Harry to the next generation. At eighteen months old, our daughter is a bit too young to get the most out of Harry's antics, but she loves hearing the story and looking at the pictures.Harry and his family go to the beach on holiday, but Harry is too hot, and it's not long before he's getting under everyone's feet. Finally he finds a quiet spot at the water's edge, and that's when his seaside adventure really begins!Gene Zion's words take the reader through a range of emotions and as ever, Harry is brought to life by illustrator Margaret Bloy Graham - especially during his brief incarnation as a monster from the deep. As well as being jolly good fun for children and adults alike (the scenes where Harry is mistaken for all sorts of horrible sea creatures have me crying with laughter even now), 'Harry by the Sea' also examines what it means to be a family and to care for others.Simply because it still makes me laugh out loud, I'm voting this my favourite story about Harry, but his other adventures - ' Harry The Dirty Dog (Red Fox Picture Books) ' and ' No Roses For Harry (Red Fox picture books) ' - are also great reads. Another great Harry book
This is a good story for 3-4 year olds. It is about a dog called Harry who is looking for some shade from the sun at the seaside. After a few failed attempts, he gets hit by a big wave and covered in seaweed. Everyone he meets thinks he is a sea monster. Everything turns out well in the end when he is reunited with his family. The next time they go to the beach they take a large sun umbrella for the whole family. The book has great illustrations and the story is amusing. All the children I have read it to loved it.

HURRY HURRY GET HARRY BY THE SEA
Great little story about a lost hot dog at the seaside. Harry just wants to keep cool in the sun & gets himself into all sorts of trouble at the beach. Lovely illustrations too. Am sure the adults will enjoy just as much as the children. Excellent value for money & arrived 3 days earlier than latest date given.

We love Harry!
Great seller. Arrived quickly, book looked as good as new as described. Me and my 2 year old love the Harry books. Would make a great book for an older child reading alone. Charming nostalgic drawings, these books are from the 1950s and I still haven't tired of reading them nightly.
