Great bag for this working tog
I am a professional photographer and had used a series of not fit for purpose bags before shopping around for a good quality bag to carry kit for weddings/general shoots around town etc. I had tried this brand on in a camera shop but amazon beat the price considerably. The padding is pretty thick, and I love the support round the waist and chest - as once all my gear is loaded it really is very very heavy! Their are sufficient pockets to also carry things like tissues/keys, and a great set of clear pockets in the main compartment which I use for spare batteries, memory cards etc, which makes it super easy to find them on a shoot. The laptop sleeve fits my laptop comfortably and all in all I never have an issue of not being able to carry what I need in the bag. I dropped my bag out of the car onto gravel with all my kit and no discernable damage, that in itself makes it worth the money! The bag is to some extent heavy, but not problematic, even before you start but the benefits of the padding etc. really do make it worth carrying. I have been using this as my main bag as a full time freelancer, and even now (at 6months old) it barely looks like it's come out the wrapping, even though I often put it down on muddy ground etc. It has massively improved shoots etc. by being able to carry what I need/want in an organised fashion! If you are looking at this and aren't planning on carrying lenses as spare/spare batteries etc. and just want a little carry around for one camera, you might want to look for a smaller model, but for two cameras/variety of lenses and a 'handbag' for personal items - it really does the job!

This bag is impressive. Room for a lot of items.
This bag is impressive. Room for a lot of items.I was in two minds whether to return the 23 and purchase the 27, to make room for future expansion. But, for an extra three and a half inches height difference (width and depth on both is the same), I couldn't justify the £74 price hike. So I decided to keep the Anvil 23. It is highly configurable. You can move the dividers around to change the layout to your specific requirement.Quality wise, the bag is robust, durable, dynamic, configurable, user friendly, practical and fit for purpose.

Quality, comfortable load carrier
I pack a lot of kit in this. Medium format camera, lenses, filters etc but it’s comfortable to wear with the waist straps adding stability and comfort

High capacity, very good quality, expensive
It's really huge but a bit heavy even empty. You can fill it with a lot of large (and heavy...) lenses and consequentely, if fully loaded, you should be quite robust to carry it around! The real issue is due to the concept of this type of bags (not only Tamrac's) that require to be laid orizontally before openig the zips or you risk to see your gear falling down, especially if you need something at the bottom of the bag. So it is very confortable to transport safely your gear or to fill it at home, less to use in the wild photo set due to mentioned opening concept. The bag is quite rigid to be a soft bag, and in my opinion is not easy to squezee it, if necessary, in order to pass some airlines' dimension-control grid.As prevoius owner of other Tamrac's camera bags I can say that the quality of the materials of this Anvil 23, successor of the previous Expedition line, is very high, made to last over time, as usual for the Tamrc's products, but the full price is too high. As for the other Tamrac's new product lines (e.g. Corona versus Evolution) The qualiity/price ratio has worsened due to an exagerated price increase. Nevertheless, for price paid on Amazon (100£, end of July 2016) the price/quality ratio is anyway very good.Excellent service from Amazon UK. I bought the bag from Italy and they solved an unexpected delivery delay forecast, arised after the order was placed, in such a effective way that tha parcel arrived before the initial estimated date.

A poor cost-cutting redesign of a better previous model without a commensurate price reduction.
I got sent this as a replacement by Tamrac when the strap broke due to shoddy workmanship on my Tamrac 5788 camera bag which they'd stopped making. The new bag is clearly closely based on the design of the 5788 which apart from the faulty strap was pretty good, so you'd expect the renamed replacement model to be an incremental improvement on a good design. But it's not. The Anvil 23 is just a cut-price copy which deletes some useful features to cut costs: the vertical tripod carrying pouch on the front of the bag has gone as have the strap points for carrying a 'pod horizontally beneath the backpack. The two small but incredibly useful zip pockets at the top left and top right sides have also been omitted. The result is a bag which is the same size as before but far less useful and able to carry less. I wish I'd kept the 5788 instead of sending it back to Tamrac and had just paid a repair shop to re-stitch the failed strap joint. The new bag also has cheaper internal dividers of lower quality materials and feels far sweatier on my back on hot days.Despite the cost-cutting the new bag costs at least the same price as it's better predecessor. Look for a good used 5788 instead or consider buying something more capable for the money. I'd give this four stars if there had been a significant price drop in return for all the corner-cutting.

Bello, comodo e capiente.
