Does a great job. Picked up the stuff that the automatic pool vac left behind.

Wish I would have bought this sooner
I would highly recommend getting this. I have spent thousands on pool cleaning things and in about 30 minutes this completely cleaned my mustard algae. I will post pictures of my pool yesterday and my pool this morning.

This vacuum does work please read !
Read this if your Intex pool has turned green and you’re not sure what to do. I have an Intex above-ground pool that went green, and I quickly realized the standard Intex filter wasn’t going to cut it. So, the first thing I did was upgrade to a sand pump and filter. That helped, but not enough—the green was too far gone for the pump alone. At that point, I had two options: vacuum the green out or drain the pool. Draining felt pointless because the problem could just come back, so I decided to vacuum it out as cheaply as possible. I found a vacuum for $50. I figured there would be a bit of trial and error to get it working—and there was. If you want something plug-and-play, this might not be for you. The main issue I faced was that the return port on the pool seemed to be an odd size. I bought a 1.25” to 1.5” hose adapter, but it was about 2mm too big. Then I tried an Intex connector from a pool shop—it was slightly too small and too short to clamp properly. So I improvised. I cut down the original connector with snips, allowing it to compress slightly and fit better. I stuffed it into the intake port, and to my surprise—it worked. It’s not perfect, and I’m sure there’s a proper connector out there, but this DIY fix got the job done. Before vacuuming, make sure to leave your pool still overnight so all the algae settles to the bottom. When you’re ready, fully submerge your vacuum hose so it’s filled with water—this is crucial to avoid losing suction. Then, connect it to your DIY or proper adapter, attach the vacuum head, and fire up the pump. I vacuumed about 85% of the algae on the first go—just moved slowly and carefully. It took about 15 minutes. I repeated the process the next morning, and the pool is now clear. Total cost? • Vacuum: $50 • Connector: $13 • A bit of patience and effort: free And that’s it. It works—I promise! Be patient, and save yourself a bunch of money

Made cheap
Bought this last year. Used it all of 8 times. This year pulled it out to get the pool ready after adding all my chemicals. Went to start vacuuming then the top plastic piece broke. Now it’s sitting somewhere in the bottom of my pool. I would not waste your money. It works fine you do have to pull it up and clean the hose out of you have a little bit leaves.

Not durable
Finally took it out for this years pool season. It's hard to keep the hose uncoiled and it cracked between one of the ridges on first use.
