Very quiet direct replacement
The kick space heater I had previously sounded like a plane taking off in the master bathroom every time it kicked on. The operating noise level was probably the most important factor, because our bed is only a few feet from the heater in the bathroom. When this heater first kicked on, I knew I had made a good choice. It is very quiet, and is able to heat up the bathroom quickly. Very easy to install with existing thermostat and wiring, basically plug and play.

A well-made product with excellent instructions
I'm very glad that I found this heater and it is highly recommended. I would rate it a 5 except that one corner of the heater box did not align with the outside cover and I had to cut and bend the heater box a little to make it fit. I kick myself for not checking that before it was completely installed. It heats the bathroom very fast and it is quiet. I control it with an adjustable timer in a wall box.

The girlfriend loves it...
I was looking for a bathroom heater and really didn’t want a ceiling model because, well, hot air rises, so why start it out there, especially if you have a vent fan also. I had forgotten about kickspace heaters so I looked at a lot of brands to see what was out there and decided on the King.First of all, they’re pretty much all the same. Similar sized boxes with a fan that blows the air past a heating element. A simple device, not much to them. I liked that the King was made in USA (some other brands are also). Upon receiving the heater, I will say that it was constructed well. Specifically, the gauge of metal used is thick enough that it is structurally sound, and not too easily bent or damaged. Easy to install. The grill extends enough to the sides to cover the mounting tabs, but top and bottom it doesn’t, so if you want a professional look, cut a nice straight hole. The screws that held the grill and cover on are a type of security screw with a square (S2 size) bit, so get one of these first or you’ll be surprised/upset from the start. They are long enough to mount the unit and grill in place, but I recommend mounting the unit securely through the four holes in the mounting tabs, those screws are not included. You should get the 240 volt model, as it draws half the amps, but I don’t have room to add a a 2-pole breaker to the breaker box, so I got the 120 volt model and used 12 gauge wire for a dedicated circuit. As for operation, the fan is pleasantly quiet. Loud enough to know it’s on, quieter than a typical bathroom vent fan.Now the important part...as for the heat, it is just a little squirrel cage fan blowing air over a resistive heating element. It’s “only” 1500 watts. Your hair dryer is about 1500 watts and works the same way. So it’s a hair dryer in a box on the floor, not a blast furnace. It’s designed to take the chill out, not a substitute for the regular house heating system. So have some reasonable expectations. Some of the competitor brands were less than 1500 watts, another reason I choose the King. In my medium sized bathroom, with the door closed, it heated the room up by about 7 degrees in a hour. If you turn it on about 20 minutes before taking a shower, you should be happy when you come out. We keep the house about 67 deg in the winter. My girlfriend was always complaining the bathroom was cold. She was impressed the first time she used this King heater.

Great Little Unit - used on Motor Yacht
We wanted to have a way to quickly heat our main cabin on a 40ft Trawler Yacht. I placed this well above our teak and holly flooring to prevent discoloring the wood - about 8 inches above the floor and similar distance below a seat. I ran a dedicated 20A circuit with #10 wire (Marine) and connected it to a King wall thermostat. The combination has been a real winner this past winter and spring in the Pacific Northwest of USA. When dock power or Generator power is available this is the way to quickly get the cabin warmed up for an evening or while the hydronic system heats up and takes over. Have not used one in a home and recommend that this unit be protected from ALL moisture if used on a boat- safety wiring was used.

May not work well with vinyl floors
Product came with a sticker on top stating that certain vinyl floors cannot withstand heat and might discolor or warp with constant temps of less than 139 degrees. That was a very good note as we were planning to use vinyl flooring but decided to use ceramic tile instead. For our application the multi-watt kick space heater will be set to1000 watts, not 1500 watts. It would be very nice to see in the provided manual, the maximum temperature that should be expected at the forced air output of the heater for each possible set up (250W, 500W, 750W, 1000W, 1250W and 1500W). The room where the heater will be installed is being remodeled, so we cannot comment on the heater's function, but from the the looks of it's construction and with help of other reviews, we have good expectations.

We love our King!
Nice product. Small but powerful. Quiet. First installed the Broan 114 and that thing sounded like a freight train.Replaced it with a King. Almost silent. Great heat.

A bit over priced for what you get.
Very basic heater. Not sure it is worth the extra money. The cover plate was bent when I received it. Not a huge deal, however, for $200 it should have been perfect. Not a quiet as I had hoped. It does, however, operate as advertised.

Impressed
Heats our space ( at least 200 sq feet) super fast. You can hear the fan but it doens't bother me. I did expect the grill to allow the air to flow straight out. However the air exits at an angle to it's right, or your left when standing in front of the heater. Still effective for us but could be a disappointment if we had have wanted it closer to the wall.
