Cannot be beaten as a lot, get one!!!!
Fantastic kit. Just built an ES335 and it plays perfectly straight from the box. Brilliant action when using Gibson factory settings, from their forum.Will now build a Les Paul using Coban kit again. Cannot speak too highly.

Rewarding hobby
Quick delivery and well packaged. The company are accessible and responsive. Well finished ready for sanding, grain filling mahogany and finishing. You do need lots of research on you-tube and have choices to make re finishing. Everything fits together well but you need to assemble as much as possible to set the position of the neck. I needed to buy quite a few tools: straight edge, string height gauge, Gibson neck checker - all things a guitar maker would have but a first timer needs to budget for. I enjoyed the challenge and it looks quite good to me. I finished it in Danish oil. The maple veneer is nice but very thin - it soon started to disappear with over enthusiastic sanding. Playability is improving as I adjust the nut etc. To conclude, if you just want a guitar it would probably be cheaper to buy a ready built budget one and tweak it. As a construction hobby it is rewarding and fun.
