Works fine
British Gas fitted a new Gas Meter for us. Preferred the old one that didn't leak, myself. Their 'chat' line people didn't respond to my request for one of their guys to come out and check their new meter installation, so bought this and sent them that pic. Yep, out they came. Could say it was a life saver, I suppose... Definitely works...

If you know what you’re doing….
As a gas engineer I find it quite frustrating when customers call me to announce that they have “found a gas leak” using one of these devices. The devices themselves do a job at helping to detect odours but that’s pretty much it.I use one of these to quickly sweep an area before using a highly calibrated piece of equipment to detect the exact nature of the escape. They should not be relied upon if you suspect you have a gas escape - having one of these pens does not make you competent.Right - turn the machine on and do it in clean air (i.e. outdoors) - let the pen purge and you can then get on with waving it about randomly until it beeps. The problem with these is that they wull also detect a vast array of other gases - from cleaning products to nail polish remover.I guess what I’m saying is - if you suspect you have a gas escape then call the national gas escape emergency number on your gas meter… don’t mess about with one of these. Open windows and doors, turn the gas off, dont operate any electrical switches and dont smoke or anything silly like that (you’d be surprised how often this happens). If necessary then vacate the property. These devices are useful, but a few quid spent on a safety check is better… and, having read some of the reviews on this product it is clear that the vast majority of people haven’t got a clue how to use the item.

seams to work well , but wouldn't work well outside in windy conditions which i suppose is understandable, id recommend this gas tester no problem

Works well, comes with 2 sets of ALKALINE batteries
Works well, also has a handy torch feature. Comes with two sets of Alkaline batteries but you only need a pair to run the unit. Tested it on my cooker, immediately alarmed that there was a gas escape.
