This is the jumbo popcorn.
The popcorn pops to big mushroom heads but it does contain a small portion of butterfly popcorn I have read in places its 10% or less and in others its 15% or less. I will say its a very small percentage as its seams almost all of it pops to mushroom heads. As for the taste and texture I have so far tried this 2 ways stove top pop and air popper. Stove top shake the pan seemed like it was tough and the kernels seemed more likely not to pop fully leaving hard pieces in the corn its self the popped corn seemed a bit chewy as well. Air popper seemed better then the stove top method as the kernels popped much better and were very fluffy but we all know that air popped typically sucks how ever that is not the case with these kernels it seems like the kernels prefer this method. I have ordered a Paragon popcorn machine and should see it in a week once i get it I will add to this review or create another review based on that method as well. Over all I have a 50# bag of corn to use up would i buy it again? YES would probably be best used for making carmel corn or even popcorn balls But I like it myself with just some flavocol and a bit of butter. ****UPDATE**** So I have received my Paragon Popcorn Machine and have popped up over 2 pounds of these kernels in it to date. I use a splash of Orville Redenbachers popping oil and then added in a half stick of butter and a shake or two of flavocal popcorn salt. I know to much butter but hay that's how i like it. I still have to say the air popper is probably the best method for this corn. However when it comes to air popper and butter added to popcorn it just doesn't work all that well. In this regard the Paragon will always be my go to popper for this corn as the texture with all the butter comes out much better tasting then air popped and butter added after fact.
