These carpet runners are very nice. They're not rough but will prevent you from slipping down your steps if you have steep stairs. The brown pattern looks good and they stick to the stairs pretty well. Prior to sticking them down, I prepped the stairs by sweeping & mopping each step. I then wiped each step down with alcohol to help with the adhesion. Worked great !

First of all, they 💯 do stick completely to each wooden step & stay there. If I had gone by how sticky it “felt” underneath each step cover as I removed the adhesive cover on the back, I would’ve thought it wasn’t sticky enough, but I prepped each step by washing and drying each wooden step before placing these down & they DO NOT MOVE. so, therefore, I recommend not to go strictly by touching the back of them to see if they’re very sticky with your hand, I recommend thoroughly cleaning and drying your steps and pressing down, and they do stick. I figured if they didn’t, I already had the rubber double sided tape that I use around the house for things however, I did not need to use that at all for these. They are perfect for what I needed them for. They are pretty, they are soft, and they adhere very well to the steps. I moved into an older rental home with awful wooden steps that are destroyed with ripped wood on the edges on each step from the previous renter & are just an eyesore & uncomfortable to walk on. This may not have mattered much if I only used the basement for storage, but the basement is where I’ve built my temporary home gym and spend a lot of my time, meaning, I have to go up and down these steps every day many times to the gym. These adhesive step covers were the perfect resolution, and they are actually pretty and soft. I was disheartened by the prices of most of these type of step covers here on Amazon, it’s shocking what some of these sellers are asking for, even for just a few & this seller sells a box of them! I am sincerely thankful for the seller for selling affordable Step covers at a time when I could barely afford to buy them! So many come in this pack I still have some left over. To me, this is the best value & quality I see on Amazon. I leave reviews for people like me that depend on honest reviews and if you’re considering these, I 100% recommend them!

Love love love! I have a staircase that is so dangerous. It has slick wood and is steep with small steps. These stair treads were super easy to put on. The tape on the back is not super sticky so if I want to pull them up later, I’m pretty sure it won’t leave any damage or pull up the wood. The treads are very soft and feel a little cushioned. It feels safer going up and down the stairs now. I got a great deal. I think the box was around $36 total with free shipping. I will definitely buy more for my basement stairs!

I wouldn't purchase this for a long term solution, but it works so well for me right now! In the middle of picking what I wanted to do with my steps and couldn't decide, so went with these for the mean time. The adhesive is decent, but like I said, certainly not for long term. Easy to clean, easy to place.

I love my stair covers! They don’t slide like my old ones did. The backing of those wore out and were slipping off the steps. These new ones have a sticky backing that keeps the mats in place but can be removed easily without adhering too much on my wooden steps. The color of Charcoal is a nice blend to my decor. It’s great! I highly recommend this product!

Very durable product and easy to install.

These treads are self adhesive and stay put well. If your stairs are wide and slippery I recommend positioning them close to edge of the steps instead of leaving too much of the edge of the step exposed. We’ve had 3 falls on the slippery edge of the steps just since installing these. I chose black. That was a bad choice. They show everything h ing and never look completely clean. Plus we have dogs in the house so there is always hair on them and it will not completely come off when they are vacuumed. I think Inwould like them better if Inhad chosen another lighter color. The picture was deceptive. It looked more of a dark gray with a lighter gray pattern. It does have a pattern but it’s all solid. Black. So just beware. They’re on the thin side, not plush at all, but were easy to install and like I said, they do stay put. My dogs had fallen on the steps several times before I got these. We haven’t had any more doggie falls since we got the carpet treads. Only people falls from the uncovered slippery edge of the steps. I’ve rearranged them and moved them out closer to the edge . They stuck securely back in place even after I pulled them up. Over all they’re not bad. I just made a unfortunate color choice. If you don’t have pets it probably won’t be as much of a problem. They were affordable for me and make my stairs feel more secure. If safety is an issue for you, just remember not to leave too much slippery edge exposed. I wish they were bigger but they seem to be pretty standard in size, at least in this price range.
