Best Dog Bed I've Ever Bought
I've purchased more than 10 different dog beds over the last 5 years for my GSD and he never slept on any of them. I all but gave up trying to find him and bed and just figured that he preferred the floor but I decided to give it one last shot and bought this bed. Not only does he sleep on it every night, he sleeps on it during the day! He absolutely loves this bed and so do I, it is one of the best purchases I have ever made. If you are looking for a good bed then look no further because this is it.

Hands down the best dog bed!!!
I bought my Big Barker 7" Headrest Edition Large dog bed in 2015 for my husky Lexi. It still looks & functions as good as new 7 years later! It's so comfortable that I wish they made a human-size version! My husky Niko took over the Big Barker bed after Lexi's passing & he has severe epilepsy so I purchased the Waterproof Liner as well to protect the foam. Niko & Lexi have both loved their Big Barker dog bed! It's truly the best quality a person can find in a dog bed. Do not hesitate to buy this bed if your large dog is older & moving slower. It provides unequaled support and comfort!

Dogs love to use it, so will you.
Producting overall rating:5/5Presentation:Bought 2 beds as I have two large breed dogs who need and prefer their own space. Both are large breed dogs, imaged attached is a older 7 year old German/Lab Mix, my other was busy outside playing :). I bought both of them XL size ( 52 x 36 x 7 ). My dogs fit perfectly onto them with room to spare. The headrest is an added option that I purchased with it as well and is a neat look and feature with it. Both colors are as is as shown. We purchased Charcoal Grey and Khaki. I did wish they had additional colors to purchase as we are very satisfied with the ones we got, but my wife is a color fanatic and would’ve love to have more options to choose from. Not a deal breaker though. The covering fits snug on the bed itself. You won’t have to worry about excess slack like other dog beds have. Overall 5/5 for presentation.Material:Covering 5/5. The microfiber covering over the bed itself is excellent. Super easy to clean. I haven’t had many messes on it as my dogs are both home trained so I am fortunate for that. Only thing I have had to worry about is that they like to lick the sheets while trying to lick themselves. With the micofibering material, the dog fur does tend to stick to it more often than your usual cotton cover dog bed, but this isn’t much of an issue as it is easy to clean the cover itself. Most other dog beds come with cotton or polyester covering which tends to be harder to clean sometimes and usually messes leak into the bedding itself leaving you with the need to buy another bed often. The therapeutic bedding itself has multiple layers of comfort to it. If you own a temperpedic bed yourself, or even a memory Pam bed, then you will know the bed holds its shape even after you get up. This is exactly what you will get with this bed. I myself along with my wife have laid in it and the bed holds its shape. Your’re talking about hundreds of pounds getting on it! My dogs love it as they get a very soft bed to lay on and don’t have to worry about sinking in which can be uncomfortable especially if you have a dog that is older and trying to get out of a bed that sinks in can be troubling.Functionality:My 7 year old pup had multiple leg injuries including a torn ACL, meniscus, and consistent limping. As many dog owners know, once a large breed dog such as a Lab or Shepherd suffers a torn ACL, they are 60% likely to tear the other leg. I bought these beds to aid in their rest and to ensure they aren’t sleeping or resting on a hard surface that could irritate his prior injuries. This bed has been great so far. He doesn’t have to worry about jumping onto a couch 2 feet up or worry about sleeping on the hardwood floors. He sleeps, naps, plays in this bed when he has a chance too. No sink in material to worry about. Easy to clean and take on and put on. It looks great with our other furniture around it. Dogs can sometimes sleep on their on legs and wake up heavy felt but this bed has alleviated it. I sometimes have to drag him out of it to go for his walk since he loves it that much! I’ve never had to worry about either of my dogs sleeping well anymore or worry about their legs healing from any of their injuries.Pricing:4.5/5Unfortunately there are no discounts for this product, but any buyer will know that the best products out their don’t get discounts or “coupons” for products of quality and prestige. These beds are made in the USA which is great. They are a bit pricey, but like I mentioned, you get what you pay for. The XL is $279.95, L $239.95, and the Giant $399.95. Buying two beds at the XL did put a dent in the wallet, but the happiness and comfort my dogs experience is all worth it. If it is in your budget to purchase this, I highly recommend it. The investment outweighs the cost of it and the 10 year warranty that comes with it is unheard of.Overall:This is a must get for dog owners all around. Why spend $40-$100 for a dog bed only to have to buy another one several months later because the quality and durability didn’t last long? Invest in this dog bed for your pups and never be disappointed. This is the “tempurpedic” of beds to dogs as to ours as humans. You cannot beat the 10 year warranty on the USA made product and I assure you your dogs will love it.5/5!

A heaven sent for my arthitic dog with ACL repairs! - 3 years later it STILL is!
Original review 9/2013:I own a 100 lb Rottweiler who has had ACL tears in both back legs which both required surgery. Its been a year since his 2nd surgery but with combined knee injuries, he has some pretty severe arthritis already, which I'm told will only get worse with age. As a result he has a hard time resting and it is very obvious when he's sleeping that he's just not comfortable. He spends ALL night up-down, up-down, tossing and turning and wandering around the room and in the morning he's clearly very sore and stiff. I've only had the Big Barker bed for about a month now, but so far ALL of these issues have been eliminated. He sleeps through the night now; no more tossing and turning, no more up-downs or pacing the room and in the morning he gets up, stretches and moves on - no more a.m. limping and obvious soreness! He's "brighter", happier and has a lot more energy! Good sleep is a wonderful thing, even for dogs!I've owned several orthopedic beds in the past, all costing over $100 each and I've gone through 5 of them in 5 years. They always flatten out in the middle, which is clearly why the poor dog is so uncomfortable. This bed is expensive, yes and cost was a major concern for me too, but I rationalized that I've already spent $500 on other beds and I have nothing to show for it what do I REALLY have to lose by trying this one? Part of my decision to purchase Big Barker was their "no flattening" guarantee. I felt the product MUST be good if they were willing to offer such a lengthy warranty. You DO get what you pay for. This bed is not even in the same class as the others I've owned before. It is FAR superior and it should last my dog for the rest of his life.My dog took to the bed right away and he loves the headrest. The cover is easy to remove and is made of a quality material. The zippers seem pretty solid/sturdy. The foam does not have any kind of a funky smell or that god-awful chemical stink that most foams do. In fact, it really doesn't have much of an odor at all. It's firm and supportive, but not rigid like a board. I laid on it and could not feel the floor under me, even when rolling over. The seller was great and took the time to inquire later if I received my product on time and in a condition I was pleased with and wanted to make sure I was happy. A step above and beyond!I am hoping to write another review in a year or so to update on how Big Barker has held up over time, but after a month it has been a God-send in this household! Thanks Big Barker, you've made me and my dog VERY happy!UPDATE 11/2/2016: BIG BARKER 3 YEARS LATER I've had Big Barker (which is used a minimum of 8 hours a day) for just over three years now I am very happy and somewhat amazed to report, that this bed is still in the exact same condition as when I bought it. There is not even a hint of a sag in it. The foam is not wearing down, even on the edges. It's not peeling, crumbling, separating or falling apart. The cover has been extremely durable. No frayed, split or stretched seams anywhere on it. No splitting or weakening of the zippers and they still run completely smooth. I have washed the cover many times and it has remained in perfect shape, the color hasn't even faded. I have the headrest version, so when putting the cover back on you do have to wrestle with it a little bit, but I think that's to be expected if you want a cover that won't stretch out or tear. Like others I have noticed some static electricity from the cover at times, mostly in the dry winter months but I think the build up on the blankets I put on it is probably worse than that from the cover itself. I keep a sheet or blanket on the bed for cleanliness but that aside, my dog still loves the bed even without sheets on it. I'm sure the sheets help, but I am surprised to notice that the foam hasn't absorbed "doggie odor" either, so I don't have that nasty dog bed stink smelling up my bedroom.Oh how I wish I would have bought this bed first and no other bed! I wish I would have not thought a different ortho type bed was going to be "good enough" and chose them because they were cheaper. I've had the other beds - 5 other ones to be exact. All of them flattened out in the center within months, failing my wallet and causing my dog pain. Have you ever slept on a cruddy mattress? Its MISERABLE! My dog was too, but he's not anymore after this bed. I know that sounds cheesy but its true! My dog is 9 years old now and everyone comments how he does not act like an old dog at all. He's bouncy, energetic and "cheery" and I know a HUGE component to his energy level is the fact that he has had consistent quality sleep for years now since finding this bed. I know this bed eases his pain because if he's having a sore leg day (limping from too much activity) he heads to it immediately and only wants to be on this bed. If you have a dog with ANY kind of joint problems, arthritis or dysplasia, help them - buy them this bed! You WILL notice a difference and they WILL feel better! IT IS WORTH THE MONEY! It is high quality, durable, well made and beneficial to my beloved pet. I feel very confident in saying this bed has without a doubt improved my dogs quality of life and has probably extended his life as well. I could not be happier with it.

Very nice & very supportive dog bed for large dogs.
Bed is the nicest & most supportive large dog bed on the market. My dog is 90 ib GSD & extra large size is more than big enough. American company is another plus.

The cover is easy to clean
I bought this product for my Labrador, who suffers from arthritis in the spine. She took to it immediately and even uses the pillow! The cover is easy to clean. I use sticky roll and a damp cloth if I need to.I have not washed the cover as I protect it with a blanket in the winter and a cool sheet in the summer. I air it outside once a month and also vacuum it.Wish the manufactures would make funky fitted sheets for it as well.My girl would highly recommend it! I got the 7" as she is a big lab.I have had this bed since May 2017 and it is still in excellent condition. I have not washed the cover as I protect it with a blanket. I air it outside once a month and also vacuum it. Really worth the money - one of my best buys ever!

The Rolls Royce of dog beds
This is the Rolls Royce of dog beds! I love it, so do my dogs! Ok, so it is expensive, but you really do get what you pay for.... I ordered this specifically for my beloved ageing border collie with arthritis and hip dysplasia, who just will not lie curled up in a bed. After much research I decided on the Big Barker, as it a special orthopedic bed and is long enough for him to lie straight out. It arrived the day after I ordered it, which is incredible, it was really well packaged and popped into shaped virtually straight away. Kori has really taken to his new bed, the only problem is, so have our other two border collie's, so he is having to share, at least there's plenty of room for all three!

Dog will sleep on it, but only when a throw is on it.
Our German Shepherd / Husky cross completely ignored this dog bed. Then, I crumpled up a throw, intended to protect a sofa, over the dog bed. Suddenly, the dog bed was the place to be. However, if I move the throw from the bed, the dog will sleep on the throw, not the bed. So, the bed is deemed ok, but the throw is really the thing the dog likes.

5 stars from Harvey
Have to say I am extremely pleased with it, my friends told me I was crazy to spend that amount of money on a dog bed but so far so good! He was diagnosed with hip dysplasia so wanted him to be as comfy as possible as we have wood floors. Vet recommended this. He hasn't chewed it ( touches wood ) & the quality is excellent. I only ordered the large despite Harvey being a 50kg Rottweiler , because he doesn't really stretch out completely when sleeping but the size is adequate . He just needs to work out which end the pillow is now !

Amazing bed!!!!
Amazing! Better than what I expected. My old English sheepdog who has joint issues, has found this bed so sturdy and makes his getting up less of an effort. Would definitely recommend!!
