Caught 11 moles so far!
I love this product. I heard mixed reviews about mole traps and how effective they are. I've tried poison worms (too hard to know if they have been effective), castor oil (which worked pretty well except for a few moles that were undeterred. I haven't tried the noise makers, but others have not had any results from those. So I figure if they aren't deterred by the castor oil, then they get the guillotine! It is easy to install, though setting the trap takes some effort (that spring is strong). Once sprung, I just lift it and the mole out of the ground and reset the trap. Once I've stopped catching moles on one set of tunnels, I can move on to the next. I caught 8 moles on one run alone until they stopped coming. I figure I got a whole sub-colony in that section.

10 Stars!
I have been on mole duty for 10, I say 10 years! Tried everything, the Solar ground vibration sticks, home remedies to chase them out, stomping the tunnels..etc. etc. So when I found these I did not have high hopes. Boy was I surprised! In the 10 or so days used I have caught 11 moles!!!! Itโs like mouse traps though you have to release them off and thatโs kinda gross. My barn cats wonโt touch them so disposal.. itโs up to me ๐ Fairly easy to set the traps and the flags are a nice touch especially since I bought another pair. I keep unused traps on my cart to set when I run across a tunnel. I am one happy woman! No more sinking into tunnels walking across my yard๐ค Hope this helps.

Smart idea but moles are smarter
I want to love these but they turned out to be a shiny lawn ornaments. Apparently I have smart sneaky moles because I've not been able to catch even one. I followed all directions exactly & yet the little sucker goes around the traps. Apparently my country moles are smarter than me. The traps are good sturdy heavy duty material. No complaints about the product, I just had no success using them.

Gotcha
These mole traps are easy to set and very durable in the hard ground. Does well in catching the little creatures.

They work GREAT!
These things work! Just got my second mole! I tried putting insecticide on the lawn, smoke bombs, and posion worms but nothing was working so I got these traps. Had them 3 days and got 2 moles. This last one set the trap off within 10 seconds. They are very well made. Easy to use. Safe for pets. And made of steel and not plastic. Side note: I bought 2 but would of probably been ok with 1. The paperwork that comes with it says 1 trap for 1/4 acre. Second side note: Amazon wouldn't let me post my photo of the mole I got. I guess there's some sensitive users lol

Best trap ever!
I live on 5 acres in the country and have been battling moles off and on for 24 years. I've tried poisons and every kind of trap. These are by far the best. I've also tried other scissors traps, but their trigger was too tight and wouldn't spring correctly. These seem to have the right balance. When I see an active run, I usually trap the mole within a day, sometimes just hours. The red flags are nice too, helping to spot the traps from 300 feet away.

Not happy with my purchase.
This product works great at catching the moles but is HORRIBLE in trying to get the mole out of the claws. Nearly impossible. It tell you to step down on it to release it. Makes no sense because if you leave it in the ground and step on it you do open the claws but you can't pull it out. Plus you leave the mole in the ground which might not be a bad thing. If you pull it out to see if it caught a mole, you cannot step on it to release it. POOR design

4 moles in 1 month on ~ 1/4 acre area
Trapped 4 moles over the past month (May-June 2025) using these traps. I had previously tried my old spike traps and had no success (I had used spike traps years ago in a different area with shallow tunnels/softer soil with much success). The runs were a bit deeper and the ground was moist but has some clay, so soil is on the denser side. It two cases, I set the traps and had a mole within an hour - whereas with the spike traps had left them for a week over active run areas and got nothing. Some things to be aware of: 1) You may have to euthanize the animal after trapping: these didn't instantly kill the mole in all 4 cases; 2) It's a bit tricky to set them as the jaws tend to rotate left or right of the tunnel as you step down on the plate to set it and may require some readjustment after setting by realigning the jaws with the tunnel; 3) You should identify active mole runs first by stepping on part of the run to see if it is reshaped in a day or two; 4) Finding the main tunnel that has feeding runs branching off of it and plant a trap in the main run is typically most effective; 5) I found these traps worked best with deeper tunnels and sturdier soil; 6) Care must be exercised when deactivating these traps as the spring is quite powerful: when snapping shut, the setting plate will recoil quickly and forcefully. Overall, these have been very effective and the small red plastic markers help me relocate them as the area is wooded and is rolling terrain (the traps, when set, are flat and not easy to spot).
