Boumbi Hinoki Wood Reversible Cutting Board(15.6x9.1x1.05 RM_Medium)

This is a great cutting board suitable for your high end Japanese blades. It is thick, well-made, and an absolutely great value for the price.

This is a good soft wood board for your knives, (esp Japanese har blades). It has the nice grain of Hinoki cypress wood. Overall I would say it is a good board for your money, it's thicker than most available and the handle is a nice addition.Only problem is that stupidity seems to rein again. The suppliers of the board deemed it sensible to stick the branding card to the actual board and with extremely hard to remove glue. Hence when you remove the card, it not only leaves a very difficult to remove area of gluey paper, it also pulls up some of the wood (it is soft wood!).You can obviously get the sticky stuff off eventually after soaking and scraping, though it does wear away at the fibres, if you're unlucky to get a pull though, it means you have another crevice to clean.I'd return if the packaging hadn't been destroyed and I need a board.

this cutting board does what it is suppose to do, protect the sharpness of your knife. i used it for a year, i see many people are complaining that it dings easily, but that is what a hinoki wood (soft wood) cutting board is suppose to do. what this means is that you keep your knives sharp for longer. a cutting board that does not leave any scratches on the surface when using it, mean that your knife is getting dull that much quicker. I really like this x-large size. i also own the small and medium sized one. if i were to pick one, i would definitely keep this x-large one.hoping to get another one when it becomes available.

Needed this for our good knives to retain their edge. Works great and a nice size.

I would have given it five stars if there was English instructions on taking care of the board
