a very high four stars...may not be enough.
in 72 pages, John Hudson Tiner presents, in elementary language, the deep simplicity and elegance of elementary mathematics. here is the gist of the opening paragraph of his Chapter 2: textbooks are continually updated; yet one has stood the test of time for more than 2,000 years -- Euclid's Elements 0f Geometry. Tiner introduces Pythagoras, Euclid, Archimedes, Fibonacci, Newton, Bernoulli, Euler, Gauss, Riemann...and explains their staying power in the mathematics of today and tomorrow -- when young readers of this book will get their chance to move math forward, forward, forward. if you know a youngster who may even now glimpse this...please consider buying and presenting this book.
