The Love Hypothesis Paperback by Ali Hazelwood Latest Edition

Heart Warming and Humourous!
I think The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood highlights everything that a lot of us have come to love in romance. The most attractive aspect of romance for me is the quiet moments that you can have with someone. Not just when you can be quiet with them and they with you, but the soft words you can exchange with them. Your darkest moments and deepest fears, spoken softly only for their ears.A friendship that runs deep and a familiarity that’s both surprising and not. The Love Hypothesis brings all this to the reader and more. It delivers interpersonal relationships, friendships, day to day struggles and the strength to overcome them.I’m usually not so fond of the fake-dating trope, simply because you can generally guess the direction everything heads in and know the typical stops the author will pull. However, I think my favourite part of the book is fake-dating tropes being mentioned in the book itself as a trope and all of them rolling their eyes about the rom-com happening in the life of the heroine (including the heroine). Ali Hazelwood calling out her own trope was a certainly fresh take on it and altered how it felt a reading about it. That being said, the relationship between the H and h mostly felt like a deep friendship with long held affection for one another. They slipped into that space rather naturally and it was like a warm cup of something held between my palms on a cold day.The side characters were all what gave the book so much authenticity. Sure, they added to the humour and angst between the characters, but they also provided a sense of home and love for one another. They were the protagonists’ found family but that was not their only role. They had struggles of their own and personalities outside of being a supporting character. So much so that a spin off series on them wouldn’t be out of place at all.The miscommunication trope is not my favourite and I didn’t enjoy it too much in this book either but it didn’t get dragged out and drive us mental for the most part which I’m thankful for. Also it created a lot of anticipation in the readers, waiting for the moment the miscommunication would clear.Another very important an interesting aspect was handled in this book as well. Something that involved the heroine take a big and brave step. Just like the miscommunication trope, this part of the book created a lot of tension and makes the reader eager to see the resolution. However in both cases the chance to actually see the resolution properly felt robbed. We see the step being taken, but not the reactions as such? In the sense, after the step is taken, the next chapter starts sometime later, thus we only hear about what happened rather than see it. After having waited so long, I guess I felt a little disappointed. However, The Love Hypothesis is a warm warm read. I highly recommend. Expect some tears, lots of laughter, feels and love.Four and a half stars!

Good Read but Duplicate Print
A refreshingly good read!! The book had me chuckling in quite a few places. The writing style is simple and feels like you're in the scene. Looking forward to reading more books by Ali Hazelwood.Buy guys...BEWARE!! The PRINT IS DUPLICATE. It is like the kind we get when we buy books on the roadside with bad printing. I even compared it with the same book available in a reputed bookstore. The Cheating Seller doesn't get even One Star

5 stars! One of my top 3 romances this year
The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood is one of the sweetest and funniest romances I have read this year! Scratch that. It is one of the top 3 romances I've read this year.Ph.D student Olive Smith kisses the 1st person she finds in the hallway in order to convince her best friend Anh that she was dating. The person happens to be Dr. Adam Carlsen, Professor in her Department, the source of tears of many students. Later he helps her solidify this lie and thus begins their journey of 'fake-dating'.I'll admit I am not that into Professor-Student relationships but the premise here was plausible and palatable to me because A) Olive wasn't technically Adam's student and B) Their age gap wasn't outrageous.Nonetheless, I loved how Ali tackled this issue early on. From clearing the issue with the Dean to Olive's peers accusing her irrationally for Dr. Adam's harsh feedbacks on proposals, she dealt all sorts of problems in a realistic manner. The pressure of pursuing academia, feeling insecure, underconfident and simply not good enough is something I feel quite often. I related with Olive on an emotional and professional level.I love how their fake-dating wasn't too cliché with them still retaining their initial perspectives about each other but slowly their layers peeled away bit by bit and they let themselves show their true vulnerable selves with each coffee date, each activity they did forced by Olive's friends.Olive is a sunshine-y character but in an awkward, over-imaginative rambling sort of way and Adam is no doubt a grump with a deadpan and dry sense of humour and I loved all their banter. I loved how slowly Olive felt safe with him. How he helped her, protected her without ever interfering in her work. Even in the physical aspect, his care and worry over her consent was the sweetest thing ever. And consent is hot. 🔥😍Their friends, Anh, Malcolm and Holden were hilarious and I loved them all. Also, I can't stop praising how hilarious the book it. There were too many laugh-out-loud moments. I was chucking a lot and I had a stupid goofy grin the entire time I read this book. My jaws are hurting from all the smiling and my cheeks are warm from flushing! 😍I can't wait to read more of Ali's works.Lastly, where do I get Dr. Adam Carlsen for myself?

STEM love story
The character development and quirky love story will make you admire it more. Author has brought all elements of a good rom-com fused with a perfect science background. The book doesn't only present romanticism but also highlight real problem faced by grad students during their PhD journey. A well crafted story which will make you laugh and cry by the end of the book.

If you're into romance that's as fun as it is heartwarming, you've got to dive into "The Love Hypothesis" by Ali Hazelwood. Seriously, this book nails the perfect combo of laughs, smarts, and that fuzzy feeling you get when love starts to bloom. The characters are just the right mix of relatable and quirky, and the whole science-meets-love thing? Genius.

*5+ Stars - This is one of the best books that I’ve read this year!
This novel deserves every bit of the praise that it’s been receiving. As soon as I began reading The Love Hypothesis, I knew that I had found a gem. This is a fabulous debut that, after finishing it, had me wanting to go back to page one and read it all over again.I adored Olive right from the very beginning. She’s intelligent, sweet, loyal, and quirky. I wanted to be her friend! When she needed to convince her friend that she was dating someone new (which she wasn’t), she grabbed the first guy that she came across in the hallway of her department. Lo and behold, she ended up kissing a highly revered, unapproachable, and feared professor. Yes!Dr. Carlsen was everything that I wanted in a grumpy, scholarly, unfriendly character. With his uptight, rigid personality and Olive’s awkward, witty charm, these two were pure gold.As a fan of slow-burning romances, this one was perfection. I felt Olive and Adam’s attraction from the get-go, but the author took her time to build their connection and, in turn, built up my anticipation. There’s nothing better than falling in love right alongside the characters, and that’s just what I did. From the butterflies in my stomach to the pins and needles of anticipation, this book put me in my happy place.I honestly loved everything about The Love Hypothesis. It was filled with humor, heart, romance, wonderful characters, and clever writing. If you've already read this book, you know what I'm talking about, but if you haven't read it yet, do yourself a favor and read it! I promise that you won't be disappointed. This is one of the best books that I’ve read this year!

Worth the hype
I loved this book from the first page to the last. It was the first book I read by this author so far and I‘m totally going to read her entire backlist…in the next year or five.I enjoyed the combination of the tropes so much - especially fake dating & him pining over her for years. That combined with a funny and pleasant writing style was 👌The characters were very loveable. Olive is someone who puts everyone’s happiness before her own, while Adam is a grump with a very soft spot for her. This book has been on my reading list for so long and I‘m really happy that I finally read it. Clear recommendation.
