It is plastic around , but its not leaking and looks solid , light weight and very nice finished. I like it

High quality version in picture, budget version delivered
The tub in the picture is bound with copper bands, which is the better quality Hangiri.The one I received was bound with plastic and it is leaking.As it came all the way from Japan I kept it and sealed the cracks with silicone and it does the job, but I would not buy this again.
