Long handled hoe with flexible head
I ordered the Walensee Garden Hoe for some weeding around the house. The hoe went together after some easy installation. I am 6’2” and the handle felt longer than most other garden tools that I have used. I had never used a hoe of this design with the flexing head. I tried it, but found that I really had to press down on it as the soil was very hard. The manufacture suggests to wet down hard packed soil in this instance. In looser garden soil the hoe sliced through and cultivated the soil much easier.

Works well
This is the first time I have used a hoe of this design and it works well. It takes a bit of getting used to but worth it.The handle seems longer than most garden tools so made it much easier to work with.It was very simple to put together and came supplied with 2 small wrenches which ensured the head of the hoe attached tightly to the handle

Best used in tilled garden for de weeding
I tried it on my regular sandy/clay soil and it worked with a lot of arm muscle to weed around my bird feeders. I then tried it to weed between my garden rows and that was much less effort and I feel like I got all the root system of crabgrass before it over took my rows. I can see i will probably use it in conjunction with my 3 prong cultivator. Cultivator to loosen hard packed soil and this box weeded to remove the weeds and their roots. The head of the box weeder is a heavy metal and looks like it’ll last a long time. The handle is in 4 separate parts and isn’t as sturdy as I had hoped. I will most likely buy another permanent length handle and attach the box head.

Works Nicely for Short Weeds.
I have tried this tool in both regular yard work and in the vegetable garden. It does fine for short, fragile weeds, but is not any better than a regular hoe for weeding the garden. However, it is very sturdy, and the length is great, and it is priced reasonably. It is a nice addition to the garden tool rack.

Works well in open dirt like gardens, etc.
This hoe works well on generally dirt/soil surfaces where you can a good groove into the soil itself. Like if you have garden that has a lot of dirt and you're trying to clear weeds but leave other plants alone, this would work.It works less well if you don't have a good way to dig the hoe in. It tends to drag across grass or stone surfaces, so it won't really work as an edger or as a way to dig up weeds on a lawn. If you have an edge, the blade can get some purchase.I think this is meant for a garden or soil surfaces where you can get beneath the soil - so it does what's expected, but is not going to work as any kind of edger tool. The quality seems good enough. It's not high-end, but it's effective and should hold up to most normal home-style use for a fair period of time.

Sturdy hoe and handle
This hoe was simple to assemble. Easy to follow instructions and hardware are included. The enclosed blade glides under the soil and slices through weeds easily. It also cuts weeds from between pavers.Strong metal handle with rubber grips on each section and end.You can leave a section out for a shorter handle if desired.

Useful
The hoe requires assembly, but it is easy to put together. The handle pieces screw together, and mounting the hoe blade to the handle takes only a couple of moments--the package includes an Allen head screwdriver and a socket wrench to complete the job. The handle does not require all of the pieces, so if you want a shorter handle, you will have that option. The hoe cuts into soil well, and it is useful to uproot weeds and aerate soil. It works well with other gardening tools--a useful additional tool.

Tough on weeds, easy to use
This is a very efficient hoe to use on weeds with shallow roots. I have to put more effort into using it on deep-rooted weeds but it is still quite effective. The assembly was extremely easy; I could have put it together even without the pictorial assembly instructions. Probably the best feature for me: I can take out one of the handle sections so that the hoe is shorter. This makes it more versatile since both my husband and I can use it.
