Yes, it is messy and thick (I almost can't get it out of the bottle) and stains (which can be removed with a bleach-based cleaner if you catch it quickly), but without it your color will fade FAR TOO FAST for the money and effort involved. I wonder if cutting it in a 1:3 ratio with regular conditioner would still have the same results... that may be my next experiment.

Definitely kept my color alive! I dyed my hair red using another product but used this every time I washed and it definitely helped prevent fading! I noticed when I ran out, my color faded really fast. It’s pretty of hard to get out of the bottle though. Especially after a few uses, you’ll really have to work to get it out as it’s very thick. It’s extremely staining (to be expected) so be ready with bleach for your bathroom! I never tried it on dry hair but I’m sure it would’ve been more vibrant if I had done it that way.

I think this is great for those trying to transition into going grey naturally. It’s not harsh on your hair and actually conditions your hair while adding a deep color. It is a semi permanent so will fade back to natural color. And it helps when your grays are driving you batty, and just needs a little live while not damaging your hair.Only downside, like any coloring process, wear gloves, be aware of touching anything other than your hair. I reuse the bag it comes in to store the bottle. I might try a silver conditioner next.

The product is great, but I have to deduct for the packaging.I use Arctic Fox semi-permanent color every few weeks and Overtone conditioner after every wash to keep my purple hair bright. It always leave my hair with refreshed color and feeling soft.The issue is the bottle. This product is very thick. The bottle lacks a flip top and the plastic is quite hard, making the bottle difficult to squeeze. This resulted in me often getting more product than I needed when it finally came out in one big glop. I ended up investing in a set of Flip It bottle stands to make dispensing a bit easier, but I still find the bottle to be hard to squeeze, especially when it is nearly empty.

first picture is today (no redyeing since day one; just using this) and second is freshly dyed a month agoi don’t usually review things, but this works so well it honestly makes me a little mad - i had to throw away a bowl of color from my initial dye that i was planning on using later. thanks to this, it hasnt faded at all. i shower and wash my hair 2-3 times a week and use this as my conditioner every wash. i dyed my hair red about a month ago, and the only difference in color is that its a little brighter, probably because i used a darker red to dye it but it has not got any less vibrant. my only complaint is that since its a really thick consistency, i’m nearing the halfway to 1/4 point in the bottle and it requires a lot of force to get it to keep coming out. but if it works, it works. i’ll try storing the bottle upside down and see if that helps. it doesn’t bleed onto clothes or anything unless my hair is damp (and even then its a faint pink splotch), so i suggest avoiding white clothes and pillowcases when youre freshly out of the shower. i have thick, fine curly hair and it hasnt changed the texture or weighed it down at all either (straightened/brushed out in pictures lol). tldr; 100% worth it

Ive used keracolor, punky, and one other brand beside Overtone. This one is by far my favorite, it works well on my hair, it deposits color to the hair and not literally everything else. With other brands i turn everything i touch blue and i unfortunately ruined my shower... Oops, but overtone didnt stain my counter or add more blue to my shower. I have also noticed my pillows arent as blue, my scalp isnt stained either. The only negative for mw is the smell, it smells like menthol, like really strong and stinky menthol.

It works but it will stain your skin and nails as well. Good for a quick touch up to your color.

I don’t want to dye my hair with permanent or semi permanent color but I do have gray hair coming in so this conditioner helps hide my grays without damage. Also gives my strawberry hair a color pop.I have fine hair and it does not weigh it down or dry it out at all.
