Perfect rice every time
After using other rice cookers over the years, a friend brought one of these to a pot luck and it had the best rice I’d ever had from home. So we bought one and ever since we have had perfect rice when needed. It is such a pleasure to operate. Plug in, turn on, fill with the correct amount of water and rice, push the correct rice button and forget it. The rice cooks quietly away while we prepare the rest of the meal. All our rice comes out fluffy, not sticky and uniform in texture. The non-stick vessel is marked so you can fill with the right amount of water. It includes a small cup for measuring exactly one cup of rice. It also includes a steamer rack which we’ve not used. This is one of those “where have you been all my life” kind of purchases. I nearly want to buy another just so I have one in reserve if this one breaks down.

Lifesaver, though cleaning could be easier
First, I love this rice cooker. It is sleek looking and small enough to be out of the way while still having a decent capacity. Secondly, do not put unwashed rice into this cooker unless you are doing a very small amount. You will have pasty starchy rice water all over the place. Lesson learned. It also makes for an annoying clean up job on the inner rim of the rice cooker, since it's not like you can dunk it in the sink. However:The functions are great, it works well, and it cooks the rice exactly to perfection. Usually what I do is rinse my rice 5 times before measuring the water for cooking. Comes out perfect every time. I prefer a long grain jasmine rice, 1.9 to 1 ratio of water to rice (you wouldn't think doing 1.9 vs 2 would make a difference, but it does). And then it's as easy as pushing 2 buttons! Love it and love that I don't have to boil water to make dinner during the hot summer months. Wonderful appliance that I plan to use for years to come.

Aroma Professional
The unit was packaged well and came with a 2" steamer basket, measuring cup (equivalent to US ¾ cup), a plastic spoon, and user manual. The instructions are well written and easy to follow. The buttons on the front of the Aroma are easy to read and clear as to the functions each button does.1st test I made white rice using the quick rice function. It says to rinse the rice before cooking so I did that. It is easy to measure when using the provided measuring cup, then you add water to the designated line in the cooker based on how many cups of rice are added. I added 2 of their measuring cups. After about 8 minutes, steam was coming out from the cooker and 15 minutes later, it showed 4 minutes left on the display. It took approximately 30 minutes for it to be done and the cooker beeped 5 times (wasn't super loud), but went into keep warm mode. I turned it off and opened the lid and the rice was done and was perfect!2nd test was using the steam function. The steamer basket is only 2" deep and I wanted to steam broccoli. The basket held about 8oz of frozen broccoli in order to close the lid. I originally put it on steam and set the timer for 5 minutes. It took about 10 minutes to start the countdown and it did display the time remaining when there was 4 minutes left. I checked it when the timer went off, but it was still partially frozen so I set it for another 5 minutes, but saw it steaming a lot and stopped it after 3 minutes and the broccoli was tender crisp and tasty! It took about 20 minutes total to steam the broccoli.3rd test was using the delayed timer and making brown rice. I rinsed the rice before placing in the cooker. Instructions for brown rice are the same as white when using the measuring cup and the required amount of water. I set the delay timer for 10 hours and then selected the brown rice setting so it would be ready when getting home from work. The hour started counting down and the rice started cooking at the designated time and by the time I got home, the rice was done and was perfect!Cleaning the unit wasn't hard in any of the tests I did, the rice did not stick to the pot at all. You have to remember to empty the little steam catcher on the back of the Aroma pot. What I didn't like about cleaning is the lid is not removable and neither is the rubber ring that seals the pot, so if you make something that splatters or messy, it will be harder to remove the food from the lid/ring. I also removed the steamer plug and a piece of plastic fell out (not sure where it came from). The other thing is under the basket, in the main part of the unit, there were 3 places at the top where it is not flat and the metal is raised and sharp and could potentially cut you if you are not careful. All in all, the Aroma Professional cooked everything really well. I feel it is a perfect addition for a single person if trying to use it to make full meals, but it makes multiple servings of rice for a family, which would be the main purpose for my family. If I were to make this product, I would include 2 different sized steam baskets and would make the 2nd basket at least 3" deep for larger pieces of meat or like with the broccoli, I was not able to make a complete bag of broccoli because it was too full and I couldn't close the lid.I look forward to trying the other options, like making oatmeal using the delay function and having breakfast be done when I wake up. The slow cook option to make some soup or small pot roast while I'm at work and trying the sauté/simmer feature.

This was and will forever be my favorite Rice Cooker
I have used this rice cooker several times a week for 4 years. It has consistently been my favorite appliance, and has never failed me, even without perfect maintenance. It's easy to use, easy to clean, and it's incredibly versatile. As I was going to purchase an "upgraded" product from another brand I realized that this one is not only more useful to me, but every other product is at least 3x the price. For a family of 2 who eats rice almost daily, this rice cooker has amazing cooking capacity even if some people say it's too small. I would almost say that's a better thing considering counter space. Also the keep warm function is amazing. I can cook rice at the same time as everything else and not worry about it burning or going cold. However, I dropped my steaming pot, and it minorly bent the bowl. Because of my mishandling, my heart is broken, along with its ability to function properly. But I will be reordering this exact model.Thank you Aroma Professional,Rest in peace.May 4th, 2021 - April 14th, 2025

Good quality
Works great! Versatile. If you have a large family this is for you. It's too large for us, which is only 2 of us I don't know what I was thinking as I really needed the smaller one.

Too Much Condensation Buildup
This little cooker is great for rice, grains and steaming. That said, I found a recipe for banana cake on Aroma's website, followed the directions to a "T" yet the finished product was a soggy mess! The amount of condensation on the lid makes me skeptical that any other type of cake or cheesecake will result in the same wet and un-edible product. In just a week, I have used this for a number of recipes and am shocked to see little to no condensation in the tiny reservoir designed to capture just that. Maybe it's the low price resulting in subpar performance that I should accept. I really had hoped this little cooking aid would perform all tasks with equal positive results.
