Great Starter Kit
This product comes with the tool and a variety of sized clamps. The use of these is fairly straight forward, the clamps wrap around the hose intended to be secured, and then barbs on the clamp hook into the tightest available hooks, the tool than gets placed on the rectangular extension with jaws opened and then squeezed tight. The tool features a rubberized non slip grip for added traction. The tool measures 9.5" Long x 2.25" Wide x 9" Fully Opened x .25" Thick. The jaws open .75"The tool has a slight wobble when pushing handles forwards and backwards from each other but nothing to critical to harm it's performance, the arms are made out of steel and should not bend or tweak out of shape unless using the object otherwise than intended. Caution should be taken with barbs on clamps they can be sharp and may not be suitable for thin walled hosing.

It worked better than not having one
I recently used this CV joint boot clamp kit when i did the front suspension work on my wifes SUV. There were no real instructions included but a quick google search or some playing with it and you'll figure it out (If you are replacing CV joints then you prolly can figure these out lol) The clamps and the pliers didnt feel too bad. The clamps themselves could have been higher quality but they were not bad and i dont think i will have any issues with them. I hear some shops just use Zip ties instead of these metal clamps...so they have the be better than a zip tie....right? Having this kit did make the job slightly easier I think, but it definitely made the finished product look cleaner and more professional. Overall, its a good product and seems its a decent value.

Feels solid.
I have to install a new CV boot and needed some clamps. This kit arrived with everything I need. The crimping tool works great and looks correct. The clamps are well made and locks into place. Great DIY set if you need to do some boot replacements.

Hose clamp pliers does not work
This hose clamp pliers does not work. This is poorly designed and definitely untested at the factory as this plier does not work for clamping what so ever. There is no narrow edge to pinch the clamp. Also there isn't enough space allowed by this plier to even begin the pinch as the pliers doesn't have the space for it.How did this make to market? I can believe they didn't test this.By the way the image of the plier on the web page is not the same plier. The clamps look like they are ok, but I didn't get this for the clamps. This is a really bad product, can't recommend.

CV Boot Clamp Kit with Pliers – Limited Strength
The Hose Clamp Pliers with CV Boot Clamp Kit offer a comprehensive solution for CV boot repair. While the kit includes various clamp sizes and the pliers are convenient, the tool's strength falls short for tougher clamps.

Can be made to work, but this is not a well made tool.
I don't know if the problem is with the tool or the clamps, but it was all but impossible to get them to work out of the box. I was able to pre-bend the clamps so that the tool was able to engage, but even then I am likely to buy something else in the event I need to do this again, and just throw the extras in the package away.

Works perfectly
I've fixed my irrigation lines with this. It's an easy tool to use, with good leverage for clamping.I have an older one that doesn't bite down as well.Good tool.

Works and Reflective of Price
UPDATE: Nope, I tried to reclamp a leaking boot while still installed. I went through 7 clamps. If you pinch the clamp pillow with enough force to actually be tight, the 3 barbs that lock the clamp just fold over and all tension is lost. I eventually pulled out my sharkbite plumbing ring clamp pliers and removed the locking spring, you have to just find and hit the sweet spot on these clamps to find max tension. One drive later I was still slinging the new grease. I could not get the clamp tight enough without it failing. I do have a fluted CV housing, may work on the full rounds. I'd find other more heavy duty clamp options or if you have the clearance an adjustable hose clamp (must be stainless steel).Oringinal:Came shipped in the transparent bag and clearly was used and tapped back together. Clamps are of decent quality but watch the spines they stick out past the band underneath out of the bag and need to be adjusted so that they don't dig into the boot. The pliers are well, they are the bare minimum to get the job done. As others have mentioned it can be a challenge to get them to grip, I think half of the reason in the clamp quality. Start the pillow pinch before wrapping the clamp around to get a more stable clamping surface, bending the wrap to get a nice 90deg angle. This will save you a lot of time. You can also break out the angle grinder and put a bevel on the inside of the pliers. Don't go too sharp as you need a blunt edge to prevent cutting right through the clamp. Will work and for the price, might as well. Just don't expect several hundred dollar tools.
