This is the second time I have purchased this kit of flies. Got this one for my son as he is staring in the sport. well constructed flies with a great variety- very good value for the money- something in there for every water condition.

The box is nice, seems durable. The flies are low quality, most are passable but the black and green fluffy ones are garbage. The fluff comes off constantly until it's completely gone.

Hey Fishin’ Fans! This kit comes in both a 3 / 4 8’ long rod and a 5 / 6 9’ long rod. I personally went with the 3 / 4 setup. It has been a really long time since I have done any fly fishing but after wanting to get back into the sport I figured this would be the ideal setup to get started with. So let’s dive in! Starting on the outside of the case, the kit comes with a very well made leather canvas style case with a nice added touch of a leather name tag showing off the FishingSIR brand. Once you open the case the first thing you will see is the plush velvet sleeve that protects the 4 piece rod each section has its own slot to keep it safe and secure during even the roughest situations. The main case will also house the die cast aluminum 1:1 ratio reel, a small fly box and maybe even some extra line. The rod has an incredible amount of flex allowing for that perfect cast. One thing I worry about is that the quality of the velvet carrier will start to degrade over time. Even though this is a downfall or a con in my mind it does not affect and workmanship of the rod and reel. A very nice thing I did notice about this system is that it came pre spooled with the FishingSIR fly line system including a Godline main line, bright green easy cast line and a FishingSir mono fly leader. I would recommend to any starter or veteran fly angler to at least try this system out for yourself.

Changed to 4 stars for the replacement the seller sent.————-This was for my daughter. It has been used for a total of 6-8 hours between her and myself.It looks really nice, but the butt section of the rod was poorly put together. It came apart when I was using it so I know it was not mistreated. Thin cork section, and also very little rod glue used to piece pieces together: between cork and butt and between the butt and reel clamp. I have been a lifetime fly fisherman and spent awhile as a guide as well. My go to rod cost me $100 in 1995 and still works well after 25 years. I was hoping to have this last more than a few outings for my daughter. Who knows, maybe this one is an outlier and the rest are fine.

Got this for our son's birthday and he loved it! I ordered this particular setup as it came spooled and ready to go once a fly was tied on.We took it on vacation and it was perfect!He has always wanted a fly rod and this was the perfect setup for him and if he decides he likes it enough to upgrade down the road, he can.The rod is great and the reel is a little cheap feeling as others have posted but for $60 it works just fine.If he decides down the road he wants a better reel he can upgrade but we saw no issues with it.

UPDATE. Bummed returning it. Reel lost its drag adjusted it fished it all day then would not hold. Just learning kids went through a bunch of flies bass and blue gills loved the flies they are tied well and held up. Also nice action on rod. Lowering a star.Love it! but here is little stuff... I bought it for my daughter this is the summer Im teaching her to fish on fly. In picture it looked like a pretty red with a little shine. It is a dull burgundy ok not a biggy unless you are a mom of a girl. She is happy just my issue. My sons (different brand) is beautiful. The action and weight seems perfect! Also super bonus are the flies it is an amazing deal and set up very quality. I had to work to think of anything not great. Its just not a looker.

Decent selection of flies and sizes. However the quality just isn’t there. After a couple test strikes or a little bit of streaming these flies are almost falling apart. However for the selection and price you can’t go to the bigger box stores and walk out with a similar selection for the price. Also at this price point I can teach my younger kids to cast and not worry about losing a couple

Some are poorly tied and fall apart. but some are really really good. I took this kit fly fishing in the Scottish Highlands and caught 3 wild brown trout and had numerous hits on the black wet flies. great value!!

Have the kit for 2 seasons now, probably caught trout with every single fly in the box by now. Sure enough, some of them hold up longer (10-20 bites), some shorter (2-5 bites) before it actually comes untied. However, Strong buy! Some tackle stores will sell you an empty box for that price (btw really nice box)Definitely 5 Star item!

The flies look great and the case is really handy. The first streamer I put on however, only lasted for about 3 hours of fishing before it became untied and fell apart. Excited to try the other flies in the box, hopefully they hold up a little better.
