Staying on. Changed my review.
Admittedly world’s most annoying horse but did not solve my problem…Straps as snug as I could make them.Did not stay on.Ok need to change review. Not only did the company offer a refund, but it’s possible I had too much water in it. More to the point, he pawed his way out of an Easyboot, a Davis boot and a Tough1, and a Boa boot, so I think it’s the horse that gets the bad rating.I kept it in case I ever own a horse that isn’t fundamentally out to make my life difficult. .

Much easier to store than larger hoof soakers, and reasonable durable.
I have a horse that is prone to hoof ailments, so a soaking boot on hand is absolutely necessary. My old CleanTrax boot developed holes over time so I had to toss it, but I figured this might be a good replacement. For one, I love that it’s shorter. It secures pretty well, and isn’t a pain to put on and take off like the old boot was. The pad on the bottom is an added bonus, as it contributes to the durability of the bag - the edges of hooves or shoes isn’t going to slice right through the bottom of the bag as the pad stays pretty firmly in place. It is totally water-tight, and I have found it to be excellent for a horse that stands for soaking. It’s probably better suited to a smaller foot, but my gelding who wears a size 4 shoe gets by in this boot just fine, though it is slightly snugger than I would prefer. When you’re done, it’s east to empty, dry and store back in the tack trunk!

Great to have in your First Aid kit for your horse!
I have a Thoroughbred that gets abscesses a couple times a year usually so I am well versed in soaking hooves! I've used a few other soaking boots and this one is comparable, but the price of this one is much better than many others out there. I'm not sure how durable this will be as it doesn't seem very thick, but at this price if I can get several uses out of it I will be happy. The material it's made of will fold easily to conform to the leg when tightening the straps. It does have a nice rubbery pad for the bottom so that the hoof will stand on that rather than directly on the material of the boot. I like that it includes two additional stretchy Velcro straps to use to help it stay on the leg as well as to help close it so water doesn't splash out. Some tips for using a soaking boot would be to use it in a soft area such as a stall with bedding. This will extend the life of the boot. Also, if using it on a hind leg, you may have to stand there holding onto the strap for a while if the horse decides to kick (just be careful you don't get kicked!) otherwise it's pretty easy for any horse to kick a boot off. Usually after a few kicks they will settle down and accept it but if they aren't used to it, it can be upsetting to them. Also only use as much water as you need to use. If you put too much in and the horse does move his leg even just a step, gravity may help pull the boot off. This is definitely something you want to have in your first aid kit for your horse and the price makes it even better.
