Floats and not torn up yet!
Dogs love it. It floats but gets heavy for the smaller dog to carry once soaked. Our big lab loves it and hasn’t torn it up yet!

Most Durable in the Tuffy Family of Toys! I’ve had em’ all!
The media could not be loaded. Our three German Shepherds make for great product testers and we have bought all the Tuffy toys. This one has held up very well so far (3 weeks in): my Big guy will taunt the two “ladies” with it and they will begin a playful game of tug-of-war. The gator is still in one piece with the stuffing yet to be pulled out. I think it comes down to how dedicated the dog is to ripping it apart. My guys tend to chew it and work to get the squeaker to make noise. They prance around with it like it’s a trophy and taunt one another until it becomes a game of chase. Ultimately, they will find a way to separate a seam revealing the stuffing. This particular one has fewer appendages available to compromise the integrity of the toy as a whole. That being said, if your dog’s a tough chewer, it will inevitably come apart but this One seems to be holding up. Note: even after my shepherds killed the Turkey and the Mouse Tuffy, I removed the stuffing and it still lasted making it worth it for the price. They pulled the stuffing out of a seam but the rest of the animal was intact.

Forever an Optimist
When I first got this toy, I was very optimistic about it's ability to withstand the torture I knew my Husky would put it throw. The toy is very durable and would last a very long time, if it weren't for the fringes down the back. I warn you that if your dog is a heavy chewer and is known for destroying toys, the fact that this toy is heavy duty made doesn't mean your won't find a way. For my dog it was the weakest point on this toy: the fringes on the back. A cute decorative aspect of the toy became its downfall. By the third day of play, my dog had found a way to chew away the fringes and ripping open the seams on the back. Needless to say, I had to get out the old sewing kit and fix it up, because he was already in love with the gator and would be sad to see it go.Of course, this is only one experience and if my dog was as destructive and clever then I'm guessing the toy would have lasted more than three days. I guess what I am saying is: know your dog before buying this toy.

Tuff Toys
I'm so glad I found this Tuffy line of dog toys. I have two boxers who love soft toys...but until now, I haven't been able to indulge them because they destroy most stuffed toys within a few minutes. Not these Tuffy's - I purchased several of them, all with ratings between 7-10, and after two months of daily chewing and play, my dogs have been unable to tear a seam, rip off a limb, or destroy these toys. The only signs of wear and tear appear on the sea creature alligator where one of my dogs has been methodically targeting the decorative "scales" along the top of the toys back. Still, while a little frayed, this toy is holding up well to the abuse. I finally just trimmed the stringy parts with a pair of scissors and the toy is back in business. My dogs prefer the animal/creature shapes to the gears and rings. I'm just happy to have stuffed toys to give my dogs to play with -- a nice departure from nyabones and kongs. I still supervise my dogs while playing with these toys. But I'm so impressed by the durability that I've actually started leaving one of the mega tuffys in my dogs crates when I have to run out for quick errands (an hour or two). Make sure you check the durability rating to find what's suitable for your dog. I couldn't be more pleased...highly recommend.

Great toy, but mouth is a weakspot
The media could not be loaded. Shipping was great, packaging was great, toy was bigger than expected, but that was a good thing. My dog LOVES this toy! It was one of his 1st birthday presents and he just lost his mind over it. I only gave 4 stars, because after 4-ish hours, he had ripped the mouth open, as it's a much thinner material than the rest of the toy. So, I cut off the material on the inside of the mouth, removed one of the squeakers and sewed the mouth shut. I guess this made it a little bit too tight, because the stitching where the head meets the body, started to fray. So, once again, I sewed that. Same with another leg. But, honestly, I'm used to sewing his toys and it still seems to be his favorite birthday present and I am SO happy about that.

Strong toy! But no match for GSD...
Lasted as long as I expected it to with a 100lb German Shepherd who’s under a year old.. but hey, beggars can’t be choosers I guess! It is a very strong toy and I did buy it with the expectations it wouldn’t last longer than a month or two. With normal play and not allowing our pup to sit and chew on it, it lasted about 2 weeks. If it was a bit more affordable, I would totally subscribe to replacing it once a month. It may have a soft(Er) spot in the mouth and behind the head, which is where the poor toy fell victim to being ripped apart.

My dogs LOVE it, even if it is only a shell of it's former self.
My dogs eventually destroy everything. That being said, it took them an exceptionally long time to get a hole in this guy, I'd say at least a solid month. The first hole was in the nose because the squeakers are in the mouth and that's what they always go for. After ripping its face off and pulling out the stuffing, the fabric still remains now, about a year after I purchased it. They freakin' LOVE this thing. Even though all the stuffing is gone and the face is a bit torn, it has lasted extremely well through tug battles and general play. I have an Australian Shepherd and a Staffordshire Terrier. The staffy is the true test, and after the squeakers were out, she has had no other qualms with it. Will definitely continue with this company.

Ripped too easily
90 percent of this product is very tough and durable but any dog will find the weak spot (in the mouth) and it was ruined shortly after purchasing.

Gary Gator has been slaughtered…
Approx 30 minutes after giving Gary Gator to my 120 pounds mixed dog Brutus, he gutted him out… not durable at all for a big destructive dog… Have to say though, Gary Gator has been the toughest I gave to Brutus so far. Lol

Not bad. But I have some concerns
It’s a pretty good toy and my 6 month old Cane Corso adores it, but the ribbon spikes on its back did not last very long. He has managed to pull the fibres apart in just a week. I’ll need to cut them off myself so he doesn’t swallow them. Other than that it’s taken a beating and it’s mostly in tacked. For those that have pups that love to pick at their toys I would not recommend the alligator but maybe the sharks

Love these tuffy toys
I have a 100+ lb bull mastiff Cross. He can destroy cement when he puts his mind to it. I also have a rowdy boyfriend. The two of them tug of war with these tuffy toys constantly. Yes, they eventually rip and get holes etc but they hold up incredibly well compared to most toys, especially given the beating they take! The stuffing in them also doesn’t pour out and make a mess but stays in the toy and only becomes visible. There’s still not enough for the dog to get ahold of and pull out. I love these toys so much I order 5+ at a time. With the abuse they get they still last a decent amount of time. Having a bunch of different toys just lessens the likelihood that one will get destroyed as the boys spread their abuse between the bunch of them. Absolutely love these and highly recommend them!!!
