BrooksMen's Catamount 2 Trail Running Shoe

Love these shoes!
Absolutely love these shoes. I like a stiffer sole when trail running and these are perfect. They have plenty of support but still allow you to feel the trail enough. Extremely comfortable and plenty of grip too. Only have about 20 miles on them so not sure of how they’ll hold up but they are great so far.

Tight in the toe box, but should be for a stable trail shoe.
I wear thin socks and it took me a few runs to get the laces adjusted. Best trail shoes I have owned. Comfortable, great cushioning, great traction in lightweight.

Nice shoes. Fit a tad too tight at top mid.
Love the look. Just fit a little tight on top. Even got a larger size. Made really good. Tough.

Awesome shoe for trail running
Fit is super dialed in, I love the fit. You can plan on 500+ miles in these shoes, great durability. Grip is good, water drains well, supportive fit. My favorite shoes. I bought them on sale so they were a great value!

Really cool looks, fantastic running shoe
These remind me of what running shoes should be. Just enough support with an aggressive tread and very responsive. No wonder Brooks has made this model for years. The colors of this shoe is so modern attractive but not over the top nor “Hoka Fugly” if you like the ASICS Kayanos, check these out. I bought a couple pairs. At 100 bucks on sale, these are a no brainer.

Great shoe. Too bad it's so narrow.
Well made, attractive shoe. Delightful cushioning. But too narrow for my feet, and there's only one width. For comparison -- the Brooks Ghost 5 (going back perhaps a decade) fit me perfectly -- size 9.5, D width. The Ghost 6 changed all that - the last design went stoopid narrow. I've since bought & used the Ghost 10 and Ghost 13, both size 9.5, EE width. The Catamount comes in one width, and the size 10 is too narrow for my splayed feet -- the sides of my feet feel/are unsupported. For another data point -- I've been wearing the Merrell Moab, size 10, as walking shoes for a decade or more.

Perfect for running on sand or loose rocks
tried these out about 4 miles over two running periods. These are really comfortable and well built trail shoes. No wear in period or over flex.

Saw them at REI picked them up here for $50 less
Very happy with the shoes, I liked how they looked at rei and sure enough they had the color ways that I liked on sale on Amazon for $50 off. I saw people saying they ran small. I mainly buy nike and adidas and they fit the same for me 11.5. Also they felt a little stiff for the first 2 miles walking in them and after that they felt fully broken in.

Narrower toe box than Cascadia 14
Reluctantly I am returning these having spent an hour trying to convince myself they were snug in the toe box not tight. But they are tight and would be overly constricting when running and probably lead to early failure of the shoe around the inside of the foot.Cascadia 14s size 11D nice and spacious in the toe box. Caldera 2s snug to tight.Lugs are also shorter on these but did not test these on the paths
