This open-top tool box is perfect for the landlord or handyman that plans the repair and wants to bring the bare essentials in to get the job done efficiently. This carrier has plenty of pockets and is built to last. The fasteners and fabric are super heavy duty and the framing is solid. The only potential negative is the empty-weight. I didn't weigh it, but when I first picked it up, it surprised me a bit. All that beefiness comes at the expense of weight. I estimated that the empty weight is about 1/3 of the weight filled that I would feel comfortable carrying any distance on the job so no problem for the small repair job requiring a few parts and tools. Ideal as an easy access carry bin, that can be dragged out when needed in the bed of a pickup/utility truck. The handle would make it easy for two people to carry onto the job site so it may be a non-issue for the contractor with a crew. Good quality. Smart design. No regrets. Built to last.

I want to be clear, this is a very well made bag. It's made of durable materials. The stitching and design are top notch. It has a lot of pockets, including some with zippers or Velcro. I have no doubt this bag will withstand years of hard duty.I gave it 4 stars because of the price. It's about twice as expensive as similar products from well-known competitors and I can't discern a notable difference. I have similar bags that have been in hard service for many years and they are holding up well. Looking at those same bags now, they're much less expensive than this bag.So, it's a very good bag, but it's expensive.

I wasn't sure if I wanted this open-top tool carrier at first, since I have a very nice, name brand tool bag and the price point wasn't a "gimme." But I decided to order it mainly because my current tool bag is open at the top at all times because I have vision problems and can't see into the dark interiors of containers very well.This tool bag upon arrival exceeded my expectations. It has a solid bar across the top, excellent visibility into the interior and perfect dimensions of the pockets for individual tools. I emptied my existing tool bag (will repurpose it as a holder for my multitool components) and it seemed like all the pliers, painters' tools, utility knives and screwdrivers easily found their way into the pockets on the exterior and interior of the walls. The files, hammers and large hand tools went onto the floor between the pockets.The only situation I can see where the design might be tricky would be if. you have job-site workers or family members around who will scrounge into your well-organized hand tools instead of finding their own. I’ve been various iterations of a home repair service professional for a total of almost 30 years, from plumbing to basic carpentry, so I’ve had a few tool bags (and plastic trays, hard shell boxes, rolling organizers, metal chests, plastic chests, bucket liners, and plenty of just wide-open buckets).This semi-rigid and open-top tool bag strikes a nice balance that bypasses the inconvenience of a closed and limited height tool box, a confined and overly soft tool bag, and a cluttered, too tall, and unorganized bucket.The materials are very high quality and you can immediately tell that a lot of thought went into everything from the pocket and pouch placement to the means of carrying it (it features a fold-over, rigid top handle as well as a detachable shoulder strap).Every stitch and piece of hardware appears to be very high quality and durable and, though the selling price seems a bit steep, I can safely say it’s worth it (at least if you’re a professional). Solid five stars (so far…will update if I encounter any issues).

This tool bag is a dream come true. It is super heavy duty so it can hold whatever you need it to and it has so much space and so many pockets that you will find it hard to fill it up. I like that it is so well made, the seams look very secure and have not had any issues with them splitting. I like that it has a very heavy duty grip to it and that the strap is able to support the weight that you put inside. I cannot say enough good things about this and find that it makes every other tool bag I own look cheap. This truly is a must have for anyone who has tools. I love the size and the versatility of this!

This is my review of Hultafors Work Gear HT5597 Open-Top Tool Carrier. I use this bag to transport my tools from my shop to the current work area. It is a well-made bag with strong stitching and quality materials. The product features many pockets of various sizes with a generous central area for larger tools such as drills, or grinders. The level strap is secure and useful also. I was not convinced it would hold a level without falling out, but it did. The only criticism I have of this item is the pencil pockets, they are very small, making it difficult to get pens to fit into the slots. A carpenter’s pencil for instance will only fit one space if forced. Since this issue is very minor and I love the durability and function of this product I am rating it 5 stars.

This is an awesome tool bag. The product description talks about the 'premium construction' and 'durable design' and they're not kidding. The thing feels nearly indestructible and will last for years. I like the versatility of the bag, which is good since I'm not exactly sure how I'll use it. I did load it down with tools to test it--it holds a ton and with 35 pockets can adapt to whatever organization system you want to use. There's also some nice touches like feet on the bottom, a strap for electrical tape and a clip for a measuring tape. There's also a pocket with a flap right on the front. Just a top notch tool carrier at a very attractive value price. Highly recommended!
