In this inspiring and heartwarming book, Nic Doward shares her (continuing) story of how she's losing weight and finding her happy place. She writes honestly about her struggles, and experiments with "quick fixes" to ultimately understand that there are no short cuts, but a mind set change to a happier, healthy life.As someone who is lucky enough not to struggle with my body weight, I found the book very insightful and allowed me to understand just how difficult this journey is for people who are overweight.Here are some of the things that I liked about the book:1. Nic Doward's writing is honest and relatable. She doesn't sugarcoat her struggles, but she also shares her triumphs.2. The book is full of practical advice for people who want to start weight loss.3. The author's story is inspiring and motivating. It shows that it's possible to change your life for the better, no matter how much weight you have to lose.The book is a fantastic mix of funny, sad, disgusting (you'll see!) anecdotes with coaching pointers for anyone who wants to try and follow in the footsteps of this incredible woman.

For anyone who is struggling to lose weight a must read
If like me you struggle with your weight then this is a must read it’s funny it’s serious it’s entirely relatable and is helping me understand what has got me to where I am. No faddy diet advice just an honest account of being overweight and her journey to getting healthier and happier, and still ‘doing it’ some coaching to help you understand what might be your personal triggers etc. Space to craft your own thoughts and start your own journey. As a fellow parkrun staggerer, walker and shuffler I whole heartedly agree that as place to start that change there is no better community .

Honest insight
I bought this book as I have spent years struggling with my weight so needed something to give me the hints and tips to help on my weight loss journey. Lots of great information and very honest about nics journey over the years but what helped her achieve her goals but is still a battle which I find too but to never give up.

Best book on health and weightloss I've ever read.
I absolutely LOVED this book. Written by someone who really gets it; she doesn't claim to have all the answers, isn't selling some dodgy diet scheme, no false information; instead she shares with us her story with openeness, honesty and vulnerability. It's really easy to read, funny and so relatable... so relatable, there were times I cried in relief! The author is 'doing it'and invites the reader to do the same. I finished it feeling empowered to keep going with my own health journey and thinking that I can 'do it' too!

Insightful, witty, raw, honest, and holding you to account
I can't recommend this enough - I just wish I'd had this book before I committed to my own weight loss journey. Insightful, witty, raw, honest, and holding you to account. I can't wait to set more goals for myself and use this book's teachings as a guide to get me to an even healthier body and mind.

Inspirational!!!
As soon as I sat down and opened this book I was hooked I didn't want to put it down!It's incredible that the author was so open, honest and vulnerable but it's evident that she has done this to help others make that first step in their journey of change.I felt so motivated after reading this I even went out and did a run to train for a 10k which I aim to complete in a months time. I'll certainly be revisiting this book during this training!This book is for anyone who needs a bit of motivation to just do it!

An inspirational read
This book is an inspirational, funny and at times difficult read. As someone that too is struggling with their weight there is so much in there that resonates with me. Well done to the author for putting it out there, facing her demons and ‘doing it’.

Motivating read
This book is a quick, easy read for anyone who has struggled with motivation to live a healthier lifestyle. Nic writes in a very honest, down-to-earth, witty, self-effacing way about her struggle with weight.Her style is relatable, funny and inspiring.There are also sections for the reader to write about their own challenges and how to improve their own life with thought provoking questions.It’s a fun and motivating read. I definitely recommend it.

A brave and inspiring read
A truly rewarding read, this book is open and honest and forces you to do the same. We all face our own challenges and difficulties in life, but by laying out their own journey and inviting the reader to do the same, the author offers an inspiring guide for how to confront those challenges head on. If you’re looking for what it takes to reach a healthier body and mind, this book is for you! Engaging and revealing!
