I bought these for a Nine West purse to lengthen the shoulder strap into a crossbody. The tone of the gold is close enough to the accents on the purse that I wouldn't know they were not purchased together if it wasn't my bag. They seem sturdy enough to hold up to frequent use (though I've only had them a few weeks). I like the closure mechanism on the ends--it would be difficult to accidentally open the latch. I only wish there were a way for me to only order the gold color, as I currently don't have use for the silver. It's worth it for the price.
