Great for wind power efficiency lab
I bought these for an AP environmental science course I am teaching. Students were studying renewable energy, and we focused on the efficiency of wind turbine systems. I installed one of the motor/generators on the tip of a wooden pylon, then stuck a beveled cork onto the shaft so the cork was able to spin freely and symmetrically. Students were able to attach airfoils (fins) onto a face of an old CD, then snug the CD hole over the beveled cork. I turned a fan on high facing the CD, and attached a multimeter to the leads. Students modified their designs to reach the highest voltage (and therefore efficiency). Although the photo I show indicates a voltage of 1.03V, students were able to generate nearly 2V with the best designs. The motor/generator shaft spins easily with almost no resistance, and even a slowly rotating shaft can generate measurable voltage in either direction. Shaft is rather small and smooth, so you'll need to figure out the best way to attach anything to it. The leads are also made of small-gauge wires which are quite delicate, but they conduct fine.

Very slow and weak.
Not the best motors if you are wiring them to a regular usb adapter like an iPhone one. It still works for like a desk fan like that, they are pretty quiet, ready to connect.

Best for STEM projects! Very sturdy!
I brought about 15 of these mini motors to make solar cars as a STEM project for my kids (I work at a daycare). They work very well, I had quite a few hit and misses, but these saved me from canning the whole project! They solder well, the wires are very sturdy and already have some wire exposed so you don’t have to strip them. They also run very well with a larger power source, so it won’t blow out. I put the soldered solar panel with motor outside at peak sun for 5 minutes and the motor showed on sign of weakness.I would be careful if you want to strip more of the wire, they are thin.

Great for STEM projects
I bought these for my students to do a stem project in which they had to build scribble bots. The kids had so much fun. I plan to do this activity every year now. There are so many projects that they could be used for.

Perfect for the Job!
Needed for my teen daughter’s science project. All pieces were as expected if not better, made out of great material, pieces are small but not flimsy or easily broken! Only flaw is packaging, it all came in a very small bag, almost too small, not labeled or separated as I would have liked/expected. But you get what you pay for!

Good for testing, wires are thin
I got these to test Relays I got. They work as a generators (6v spinning it as hard as I could with my fingers). The wires are super thin and flimsy. No way to solder on better ones. Just be aware of that. They do ok. Light applications.

Good product
Great items for hobby projects. Each one worked well. Plastic mounting chassis is a fantastic and useful addition. Good price.
