This Sirius six volume hardcover box set is a beautiful collection, with individual volumes of a comfortable size for reading. Hard cloth covers are firm and seem durable. Binding is tight. Printing is compact but cleanly executed in an easily readable typeface. In my set, the only flaw was a half dozen leaves that were cut slightly skewed to the printing, but text did not run off the page even then. Mercifully, these books are free of the scanning and OCR errors that increasingly plague other collections. I have not observed a single error in the printed text.Each volume includes a table of contents and an introduction, with only the last couple paragraphs being unique and specific to the stories in that volume. When ordered I didn’t expect the books to look the way they did. But I was pleasantly surprised they look amazing

I found this collection to be vastly superior to any other collection I know of. This is the kind of collection I've been looking for and have found on Amazon at a most reasonable cost. Any avid fan of Lovecrafts masterful fiction will find this to be the best collection available, short of original manuscripts in the author's handwriting. spooky and disturbing

Excellent hardcover books, compact and easy for travel. Only issue I've seen is that Lovecraft's first story "The Alchemist" is not included despite being mentioned in the introduction of each book.

If you are familiar with Lovecraft I won’t go over the content of the stories, other than to say I’m not finding any proofreading errors, so yay for that.What I will do is compliment the publisher (Sirius) on a very high-quality job. The slipcase is very sturdy and holds the volumes snugly. The volumes themselves are a little bigger than mass market paperbacks. The boards are nice and thick, cloth covered, and the front cover title and art is embossed. The binding is sewn and the paper (and here is where a lot of nice editions go off the rails) is satin-smooth, heavy and *bright* white. Some people have complained about the size of the text, and it is smaller that that in most paperbacks, but the clarity of the font and the whiteness of the paper makes it easy enough to read. And, yes the outer, top and bottom margins are a little smaller than usual, but the center margin is plenty big, so no spine-breaking needed to see all the words. I got this set nearly 50% off and for that price it is a super bargain. A really nice set to give any Lovecraft fan, including yourself.Note: there are no illustrations or ribbon bookmarks, in case you were wondering.

Ho comprato questa bellissima box set, che mi è arrivata dall'Inghilterra in poco meno di una settimana. Non entrando nel merito dei capolavori del maestro Lovecraft (che non avrebbero di certo bisogno di una mia recensione su Amazon), mi limiterò a parlare del prodotto fisico. L'imballaggio per la raccolta è stato impeccabile, la box set mi è arrivata incellofanata, come nuova. Nessun'ammaccatura, nulla di cui lamentarsi. I libri fanno un figurone sulla mensola, esteticamente appaganti, sono solidissimi, resistenti e della giusta media dimensione per essere comodamente sfogliati. Non posso parlare nel merito del testo originale inglese, non essendo erudita su ipotetici processi di modifica al testo originale o altro. Per chi è un abitante consolidato del genere, della narrativa, della fantasia più sfrenata, non sta a me ricordarvi quanto queste letture nella loro interezza siano imprescindibili. Buone avventure a chi li leggerà per la prima volta.

The text is a bit dense but for the price I'm blown away by how pretty these are

Like -The books themselves are nicely bound, with most of them containg 3-4 stories to my surprise. Way more than I thought given the price.Disslike -Editing, or lack thereof. Words can be cut at the end of the page, paragraphs will end on the middle of a page and the next one will be marked with a roman numeral and begin on the same page. I found maybe 1 type-o per 200 pages, but given the country of printing being China, all of these are completely understandable.Overall : Would definitely recommend to any Lovecraft, they are well worth the price, and make for a neat mini collection. Will most likely order more from the same seller, once I go through this set.
