Cat immediately took to it after I placed it by the window. Within a day she discovered the scratch post and loves it!

I got this because I was curious if I sat it next to my computer chair if my cat would climb and sit on top and enjoy this. The truth is, she was not all that excited with it when we first got it, however, she's a cat...And now, she seems to be enjoying and using it more and more. She climbs on it (climbing and agility is the primary reason for purchasing this in the first place), then settles watching what I'm doing on the computer, pawing at me, and sometimes even climbs over the arms of the chair and jumps on the keyboard, wreaking all expected havoc when she does (Thank God for "UNDO!"), and sometimes just climbs on it and curls up. So...I would say this...Those questioning stability? Valid. While it works for my experiment, I might get a heavier duty one in the future. If I do, I can still use parts of this in other challenges for my cat to keep her inquisitive (like I need to do that!!). Until then, I'll settle for her enjoying and practicing her agility and climbing skills and curling up on this. Would I buy this again? To find out if my cat would even pay attention to it? Yes. Expecting long-term durability? Not so much. I'm very satisfied with purchasing this because it answered my questions at a reasonable price. I consider it worth taking the chance on it.Edited to Add: About a week after I posted this, the base on the bottom section broke. I purchased one of the sisal replacement posts available here on Amazon to replace the bottom section. Now it's 6 inches taller, and so far, seems a bit more stable. Even if she breaks another bottom with her climbing antics, it's still been worth the initial investment. One additional item, less than a week ago she managed to rip the carpet off the hanging ball (as was mentioned in another review). So, again, if you are wanting to see if your cat will like something like this before spending more than twice the mount for a sturdier and more durable version, you can answer your questions at a reasonable price. If you already know your cat likes to climb and rest on a top perch? Spend the extra $$$$ for extra quality. This has still served the purpose for which it was purchased.

Nice quality and good looking

My cats loved this thing! They started using it before I finished putting it together. Bought it for my mother in law’s cats. There was one broken piece, the topper screw that’s half plastic and half metal. It holds the ball onto the base so definitely needed. Ordered a replacement but in the meantime my hubby figured out a workaround and it worked! Got the new one and that one had a good screw so put it together and took it to her and her cats love it too!

Both of my cats have definitely used it and played with the fur balls. A little concerned that it might tip over but has not been a problem yet. Easy to assemble!!

My kitties had this all of 30 minutes before they snatched the ball off AND ripped it open. It was easy to assemble. Took my son ten minutes if that long to do. It seems to be pretty sturdy otherwise. I’m giving this 3 stars because they do actually like it and it keeps them busy.

Cats seems happy, they play with it regularly & has helped with on clawing the walls.

Got my first cat, after we bonded it felt like he was crying out to me for a scratch pad. Before he ended up scratching the furniture. This scratch pad is a solid build, it feels very authentic an easy to setup he will definitely have fun with this.
