After 40, bald spots began to appear in various sections of my hair, making the daily routine of doing my hair increasingly more difficult and frustrating, as well as much more time consuming. Just when I was at wit's end, my daughter-in-law suggested using something that I'd never heard of, to mask the effect of my post-menopausal hair loss...a root concealer. I researched and purchased several different products before finding this little pot of magic, which worked so well that it absolutely saved my sanity and immediately simplified my hair routine. Quick...easy...and very effective, this is by far, the best product of its kind, to successfully mask the appearance of thinning hair and/or, sporadic balding.The only negative I have found is that, because this is a (compacted) powder, traces of it will often land on surfaces within the general area, during application, (bathroom sink, countertop, etc.) which makes the process of application, for me at least, seem a bit messy. To avoid this, I just lay a towel across the sink area, to catch the particles and minimize the "mess," and any trace of it is completely washed out of the towel, when laundered. Other than that, this product is the perfect solution to the embarrassment of age-induced hair loss, and I fully recommend it.

I wear non-lacefront wigs sometimes and have used this several times now for hairline / edge coverage to blend in the sideburn and edge areas where my hair is thin. I have used the much more expensive Joan Rivers brand (Great Hair Day), which is also great, and I think this is just as good for what I'm using it for.

I bought this for my sister to try...she has lost about half her hair. She had used a famous-name "shadow" for thinning hair and liked it, but it was very expensive and the applicator was quite difficult to use. This is 1/3 the cost and the rounded sponge-like "puff" works extremely well--to apply the color and with its size--quickly. I need to say that the 1/3 cost of another option may not be an equal savings since it may only last about 1/2 as long...however...the well-designed container with the loop to hold with a finger is much more convenient, and again, that sponge applicator is THE best! BTW, gray is a dark gray, coffee is, as one reviewer said, coffee with (alot of) cream. Brown is darker.

in general it works fine. Reason for 3 stars - the applicator is hard to hold onto and also when you try rubbing into scalp area if you rub a 2nd time it comes off a bit and "globs" up in some areas. OK if you do one quick swipe but if you want to apply more or rub in you may be sorry. Maybe I am doing something wrong but I find it a bit tricky to have it look even. Maybe part of the issue is the way you have to hold the applicator? It works ok for the price but not sure I would get again. The loose powder one I have seems better.

Okay, so it took me a while to discover the applicator at the bottom - I guess I should have read all the reviews first! Once I applied it with that, it was amazing! It's so much easier to apply than Toppik or other items that shake or spray onto your hair. I can apply it right where I want it, and it makes such a huge difference in the appearance of my thinning hair. I love that it's so compact, I can carry it in my purse. I ordered the Brown, and it looks great! This one little jar will last me a long time.

This is way too light.. If you are looking for dark brown avoid this. I saw no choice for dark brown and should not have ordered this. I tried to mix it with a dark brown but it didn't work all that well.

I have thinning hair pretty badly, due to genetics, especially in my hairline. On the sides, my hairline is receding as well as thinning which makes it super noticeable when I pull my hair back. I was very skeptical about this product since I’ve tried others like Topik, which were very messy and thick. This was by far the best think I used and doesn’t give that thick nasty look like Topik. This was super light and soft, but covered so well. I loved the applicator sponge that’s included with it! I’ll definitely be purchasing more of this product.
