He's gonna fill their shoes!
What a breath of fresh air Jamey Johnson is - one of the best finds in the last five years in the realms of Country music. There are shades of George Jones, Waylon Jennings, Randy Travis George Strait, Toby Keith even WIllie Nelson in his delivery, but still comes across as his own man. Well crafted songs sung in JJ's own style, and supported by a first-clas bunch of musicians. As a player, I find his material very inspiring, peeling off some of he sugary veneer that covers a host of the very slick albums by current popular artists, and gets back to the roots of a good theme, melody and lets the song shine through. Good to see people like him and Mark Chesnutt hold out against the Nashville Machine for their own values. Buy his catalogue, you won't be disappointed!

A bit repetitive
An early Jamey Johnson not bad but not his best.

The Dollar
It's Jamey Johnson, so whats not to like. Now that most of the REAL country singers have passed on, but this guy is keeping alive the roots of genuine country music, as apposed to the so-called modern country music garbage being churned out nowadays. Nashville take note and get your act together co's this guy is the future of country music. Brilliant CD.

Not a bad track!
A voice you either love or not, I do. Good mixture of songs. The first track, 'The Dollar' should be played to all fathers, the last, 'Lead Me Home', I must have played at my funeral. Bit 'black' I know, but a great song for a Christian.
