Great feel when shaving

The media could not be loaded. This is a very nice razor. It is well engineered, nicely machined, and functions perfectly. Everything is smooth and perfect, and I like the knurled handle grip. My favorite feature is how nicely it fits into the stand, and how when it slips into place, it makes a satisfying click as the bottom of the handle hits the bottom of the base. I am attaching some photos as well as a video to show how the handle fits into the base. The razor blade head itself has some fine white strands, which I suspect are residue from the packaging process, and I see similar strands on the razor in a photo posted from another reviewer. That won’t affect the function of this product, but I am pointing it out, so you won’t be surprised if you see that on the blade, noting that it is a bit unattractive, but should be fine if you know to expect this. Otherwise the packaging and presentation is quite nice. This is expensive for a razor handle, but in exchange it is quite a step up in quality and would make a nice gift. I like it.

I am someone who has to shave every day, and I typically use the Mach 5 power razor.When I came across this, I thought it was absolutely beautiful. I read all the information about it and decided to go ahead and place an order.It arrived last week and my first impressions are that it is beautifully packaged and would make an awesome gift. But when I opened it, I was quite surprised about the weight of the handle itself.For some reason I thought it would’ve been weighted or balanced and help you shave a bit better.The razor itself is very lightweight.There’s not much to it at all And it does have a nice base that it goes into, which the base is very well weighted, but for the price I think it’s a little bit disappointing for what you actually get.It looks great sitting on the counter, don’t get me wrong, but if it was like $20 or so I would definitely think it was a good investment for someone to make. So unfortunately, even though it is pretty cool looking, I really can’t give it more than three stars.If you have the money to splurge and want something that looks really cool, then definitely give this one to try.But, if you are happy with the Mach 5 razor Handle that you can buy for about $10 then I probably wouldn’t make this investment.I hope my review helps you to make a more informed decision.

I like the color and I love the built and weight to this razor handle. The little magnetic stand makes storing off the ground pretty neat. My favorite part is that the blades are replaceable with the Gillette ones, that is awesome!

To start, I've been using Gillette handles and blades for decades, and I've used one of their powered handles for several years (the kind that take a battery and vibrate). So, I absolutely like Gillette blades and know them well, and I don't often use a regular handle.These look cool in the pictures, and they are certainly different than Gillette plastic handles, but I don't think it looks especially cool sitting near my sink in the bathroom. The red color is part of that for me, though, and perhaps one of the other colors would excite me more.A bit ironically, the thing that makes it so nice to use is the thing that made me not excited about it with my first impression - it's lightweight. I tend to equate heft with quality, but honestly, a heavy razor is more cumbersome to use than one like this that is made out of aluminum. So, they certainly made the right choice in terms of metals.And, yeah, this actually is really nice to use. When I first held it, it felt too thin to me. I thought it would be uncomfortable to grip while shaving. Turns out, it's perfect. It really is easy to shave with this. I also thought that I'd miss the vibration from my regular handles, but I really didn't. This provides a nice experience. The upper black plastic portion of this handle has a perfect shape and indent to put your index finger to provide a bit of pressure against the skin, and Gillette blades just glide so nicely.I think it works great, and I quickly came to appreciate the lighter weight nature of it. It doesn't look as cool in person to me as in the pictures, which is certainly going to vary from person to person. While I don't appreciate it enough to think it's worth the current (as I write this) price of $75, I do think that they've made a quality handle. If you appreciate precision machining and nice anodizing, it might be worth it to you.

Ok let’s be honest. I don’t like how they put a cheapo replaceable razor head on such a luxuriously engineered and crafted metal handle. But I get that it’s for ease of use and flexibility. So I’ll let it pass

This handle is definitely more about looks and "luxury" than it is about overall function. It doesn't work any better than a standard razor blade handle. It doesn't even come with a travel case or anything like that. It's just a well machined aluminum handle, with a machined aluminum base. I can see that there is a certain type of person who would like a handle like this though. For the average person, it would seem like an expensive extravagance though.The type of person I think would probably find this purchase worthwhile, would be the kind of person who has a very purposefully cultivated "look" to their bathroom. Everything in its place, every little accoutrement matching or with a particular look/style. A bathroom where everything looks clean and perfect and deliberate. I imagine that unless you have cleaning staff or are the type of person who compulsively cleans and organizes, most people's bathrooms are somewhat more chaotic and less cultivated looking.An item like this definitely has its place, but not for most people. Star deducted for value, for 75 dollars I'd expect a little more than just a few pieces of machined aluminum. At least a case or even a nice blade cover or something.
