A lifestyle book, not a walking book
Love Julia's TV programmes and I was expecting it to be more walking related, but it's more of a lifestyle book covering a lot of health related topics like sleep, nutrition, stress, breathing, exercise etc and I feel like this has already been done by a lot of other celebs, and the topics have been better covered elsewhere by more medically qualified authors. The last couple of chapters are more walking related but it feels like they were squeezed in at the end! It is well written but very fact based, I don't feel like we really got to know Julia on a more personal and vulnerable level, which is a shame as she seems like such a lovely person! For anyone wanting a book on the benefits of walking I recommend Adventure Revolution by Belinda Kirk. I also recommend Wanderers a History of Women Walking by Kerri Andrews.

Julia Bradbury is truly an inspiration!From a life-changing breast cancer diagnosis in 2021, the accompanying fly-on-the-wall documentary where you take each harrowing emotional step with her and her family through treatment, to the publication of this beautiful book that advocates for the power of walking in nature to enhance our own, very individual health and wellbeing is incredible! Her insight, enthusiasm and sheer will that we all experience the healing power of nature just by putting one foot in front of the other is palpable.From a personal perspective, this beautiful book mirrored my own, deeply personal relationship with our natural environment, and from a professional perspective, I'll use it as a qualitative reference book as I continue to oversee the development of a Wellbeing Walks programme for a national walking charity!Thank you Julia, you truly are an inspiration.
