These clamps are strong and sturdy! They are not hard to open and they do stay in place once clamping onto something. The clamps can easily hold a rolled up quilt while I am hand quilting and it makes the job easier. The clamps strength are excellent and they are great for stretching quilts on the table as well. I also found other uses of these clamps outside of my sewing room, they can hold onto a huge shade cloth in the wind in my garden!

My bride was needing large quilting clamps and these are perfect. Large enough to clamp around a small roll of material or on to a table edge. Strong spring (not too hard to be opened by delicate hands) and designed to keep it all secure. These are better than we imagined they could be... we didn't know this is what we were looking for. Absolutely perfect solution.

I saw a friend use these clamps to make a small quilt and as I watched I had an idea that they would work for a project totally NON related to quilting and fabric. I have wood A-frames that I attach white board material to make signs for our greenhouse and regular clamps weren't working well...These Are PERFECT because they have a long throat...makes it easier and its more stable when clamped. What I really like is they also have a nice degree of tension...they clamp down and they stay put! I am totally satisfied with this purchase!

Great product for special quilting projects

These Madam Sew Quilting Clamps are quite strong and very versatile. They come six to a box in pretty pastel colors and, despite their appearance, have a really good grip when applied. It almost takes two hands to open them initially. They are about 6 inches long and lightweight, with a 5 inch maximum opening. They are intended to hold quilting materials, but can be used in many different crafting projects as well. With spring loaded steel clips, they should last for quite some time. I am very pleased with this product.

I like these clamps because of their solid sturdiness to hold a large, fat roll of quilt in place. It took me a few tries to open the tight grip. I learned to use both hands to pull the clamps open at their wide points or press my palm to open them at the hand grips. I can place the grips along the roll or at the ends. Either way, they help manage the quilt's bulk while sewing on a conventional sewing machine.

I use these to hold quilts rolled up while I'm quilting them. They are easy enough to open and still hold well when in use. I'm happy with this purchase.
