I bought this umbrella for a trip in 2022 that was dry so I did not need the umbrella. Fast forward 11 months and I take it on my next backpacking trip in an Ireland. On the third use It was blown inside out and 2 of the metal ribs were broken by a huge gust of wind that probably was in excess of 70mph.. Since the umbrella was described as wind proof I contacted the seller and inquired about a replacement under their warranty. The seller responded quickly and immediately shipped a replacement that arrived in 3 days. Excellent service. The umbrella is big enough to keep me dry and packs very small, fitting easily into a side pocket of my pack. It even has a soft carry bag with drawstring closure. Nice!

I know it's just an umbrella, but it's a very small travel umbrella that I have tucked away in the pouch of my car door. It has been sitting there for months just waiting until finally I got caught in a rainstorm and pulled it out. I'm certainly glad I had it because it saved my but carrying a bagful of camera gear. It isn't the most sturdy thing in the world, but for an immediate need and have it when you need it item, you cannot go wrong with it. It is TINY. Just get one, just in case.

I bought these to go in my kids backpacks for Disney for shade. They are the perfect little size. They have a really nice case. The only thing negative I would say is they are a little difficult to push up to the final click to get them to stay open. My kids (5 and 8) couldn't really do it by themselves. Otherwise, they did their jobs and provided some nice shade on a very hot Disney day! I will keep them in my car now because they compact down to the perfect little size!

The umbrella is perfect for carrying in your car's glove compartment, backpack, handbag, or purse. It's just the right size to protect you from the sun or rain. Lightweight yet well-made, it comes with a stylish black velvet bag, making it easy to carry anywhere. A must-have item for today's unpredictable weather.

The positives: It was lightweight, has a full sized arch (38”), is compact when folded (7 1/2”), and was inexpensive. In fact, those were really the only factors I was looking for when I ordered the umbrella.However, the umbrella has other features that were disappointing.1) It is very difficult to push the umbrella open far enough to “catch” the little piece that will keep it open. I think there may be two problems. One, the catch is too small and two, it requires a lot of strength to push it far enough to catch. And I have to give it a little twist in order for it to catch. It usually takes several tries before I can successfully open the umbrella.2) The umbrella closes over the spokes and they all have to be perfectly aligned in order for the shaft to stay closed (telescoped) in order to hang it. Again, it’s a difficult process that usually takes me several tries.Also disappointing, but entirely my own fault- I failed to select a color, so I received black instead of the purple I wanted to order. Not their fault. I need another umbrella and am probably not going to order the one I got from Sy Compact again even though it has all the features I want- lightweight, full size arch, compact when folded and inexpensive. It’s just too hard to use.

Perfect size for a backpack it’s super compact and seems sturdy

Fairly difficult to open. Doesn't have the button to spring it open and also somewhat difficult to latch in place. It is pretty, however.

Absolute waste of money. I bought this based on all the positive reviews. Wish I’d just read the one star reviews as they’re more accurate. This umbrella is so difficult to open that you’d be drenched by the time you finally got it open.

The umbrella is very good size, ideal for carrying in backpack pocket. a little bit flimsier than I expected, I hope it goes well in wind, as I am not sure how flexible it is. Ok so far.
