I recently purchased the Eufy Security Solar Wall Light Cam S120, and I am thoroughly impressed with its performance and features. Here’s a breakdown of my experience: Pros: 1. Solar Power: The “Forever Power” feature is fantastic. The built-in solar panel ensures the camera remains charged without the need for constant battery replacements or wiring. It’s truly a set-and-forget device. 2. 2K Camera Quality: The video quality is outstanding. The 2K resolution provides clear and detailed footage, which is essential for identifying faces and other details. 3. Motion-Activated Light: The motion-activated spotlight is very bright and effectively deters intruders. It also helps in capturing clearer footage at night. 4. AI Detection: The AI detection is smart and accurate, reducing false alarms from non-human movements like pets or swaying branches. It reliably notifies me when it detects a person. 5. IP65 Waterproof: Living in an area with unpredictable weather, the IP65 waterproof rating gives me peace of mind that the camera will withstand rain, snow, and dust. 6. No Monthly Fee: One of the best features is the lack of monthly fees. Many security systems require a subscription for cloud storage or advanced features, but Eufy provides excellent service without additional costs. Cons: Wi-Fi Range: The Wi-Fi range is decent, but if you plan to install the camera far from your router, you might need a Wi-Fi extender to ensure a stable connection. We’ve put this up in the back garden and honestly, I’m really pleased with it. The video quality is crystal clear in 2K you can actually make out details properly, even at night. The light comes on automatically with motion which is great for security, and also just handy when we’re letting the dog out after dark. It charges itself with the solar panel (no messing with wires or batteries), and the battery’s holding up well even through some dull UK weather. Setup was super easy with the app, and I love that there’s no monthly fees. One of those things you forget is even there… until it catches something!

We have a long garden with a drive at the bottom. Around 30metres away. This solar camera connected to the WiFi in the house and let me keep an eye on the cars when ever I wanted. Alerted me when people passed. Was easy to set up and get working right away. I fully charged it by cable before fitting down the drive. During winter it still managed to charge during the day and never dropped under 86% reason it dropped so much was me connecting to it so often. The problem I encountered and the reason for dropping a star. was once it got dark. I stopped receiving notifications. And I think it may be down to having the camera on colour night mode. Rather than infra red. Black and white. Night colour was amazing in a poorly lit driveway. Just a shame the alerts stopped for me. Hence I returned the camera for a refund

Takes a few days for the solar to function reliably but when it does it works well. Two flaws notifications are slow, I have a ring doorbell covering the same location & it notifies of the same movement approximately 1 minute after. It does record the same event, just notifications slow to come through. Hoping this will be sorted in a future update. Also events are slow to open, and the field of view could be wider. But the pic is clear & the app is intuitive & the fact it never needs charging or battries changing means it will do the job adequately.

This is a well made and easy to install and use light and security cam. Would definitely recommend 👍

I write this review as of 10/05/2024. Please be aware that Eufy do regular firmware updates, and there is potential that some of this review could change for the better for some of it. 1. You need to optimise motion detection otherwise you will have a battery draining situation. If only interested in human detection then turn off other detection, make sure you accurately map, an Activity Zone area so motion not picked up by passing pavement or road and just the area. Also set your light to something between 50% to 80% to help reduce battery drain. 2. The solar panel is brilliant if its gets full sun. Without full sun, expect only 3% charge per day. I'm yet to see how this works in Winter time. Can see me having to take down and recharge! If you have an area with lots of movement, then this will just drain the battery quickly like 10-15% per day! 3. This does not connect to Homebase S380 as yet (overdue) but is on the list to be done "early 2024". I am also hoping you can have this in Multibridge mode where you use your OWN WiFi network rather than having to connect to the 2.4ghz WiFi network from the Eufy Homebase S380 unit. 4. On internet forums, it is mentioned by many people that there is a bug with motion detection activating the night light all the time and draining the battery as the detector detects a bigger area 5. The downward facing camera actually misses the floor area around it which is annoying, it could have faced downwards just a little more or used a slight curvature of the lens to achieve it. 6. The whole camera is held to a mounted plate that literally has ONE NON-SECURITY screw to hold the whole unit in place! You'd think at least a security style screw would have been provided to make it more difficult to remove. UPDATE 25/09/2024 from 10/05/2024 =============================== Whilst I like the Eufy app and the device, the solar panel is rubbish and not even Winter yet just rainy days, and the battery falls an alarming rate each day despite trying all sorts of tinkering like activity zone, sensitivity, light out power at only 50%. Also a spot on the panel where rain has started to lift the laminate at the very edge. Will keep an eye and exchange under warranty if this gets bigger. Eufy really need to test basic functionality more before committing to the market. It's things like this that put customers off and I have bought quite a few Eufy cameras from this years range including E340, S340 and S330 4G cameras.

They work well, and the image quality is very good. But with the security, they can be hit and miss on detection. Many times they don't detect a human, but will a shadow, even though set to ai human detection only. Also through the UK winter months, they won't charge by solar, and will need an external power source, or be charged. App can be slow to ping detections also. Plus side, no subscription and can view live feed on mobile phone, anywhere in the world, if you have data on your phone, which most mobile phone contracts do now. So you don't need to hunt for a wifi hot spot.

This is a great product, it was easy to connect to our home WiFi and to put up on the wall. The light is bright and the images are crystal clear even at night. It's easy to operate and the built in solar panel keeps it charged. I'm really impressed and will probably buy another.
