I bought this dryer for my naturally curly hair, looking specifically for one that helped reduce frizz and drying time. It succeeded my expectations, my curls came out amazing and it took me half the time as my previous basic dryer. It's super cool looking and fairly lightweight, definitely lighter than any other dryer I've owned. I love the location of the buttons, I don't accidentally change the settings or turn it off. I also love the color changes in relation to the cool/heat settings. BUT I am scratching my head at the comments about how quiet it is. It is not quiet. The noise it makes is actually more pleasant than a standard hair dryer and sounds super powerful, because it is, but I would hardly call this dryer quiet. That being said, I would still highly recommend it and would buy it again in a heartbeat!

Update: The manufacturer answered my e-mails, and after some quick verifications they sent me a replacement unit. They were very polite and helpful. I'm changing my rating from 2 stars to 4 stars.Original Review: I purchased this Laifen Hair Dryer via Amazon on December 23, 2022.It worked great for about 9 months, and then just stopped working for no particular reason.One day while using it normally (no more than 10-15 minutes a day) it suddenly let out a spark, and stopped working. Now it only blows out cold air, which is useless.I am very disappointed, because it had everything to be a great hairdryer, but it only lasted about 9 months, which is just no good.I've contacted the manufacturer's customer service, but have not heard back from them yet...

Powerful, fast drying, gentle on hair. However, I had to take a star off due to the air intake being located on the handle where the cord is attached. When you grip the dryer to avoid blocking the intake, you often bump and change the heat setting. Maybe that's the feature that is too sensitive.

I ordered Laifen Swift hair dryer. This was a big purchase for me, even with discount that was on.Used it today for 1srt time. As a mature woman my hair tends to get frizzy/flyaway. I have a lots of hair, shoulder length & layered. I used low speed (which really is more medium) & medium heat. It dried my hair quite fast....NO FRIZZ or FLYAWAY hairs!The dryer is powerful. Button placement great. Settings good. Came with 3 attachments I haven't used yet. But they attach to dryer magnetically. The cord is short about 5ft. Not an issue for me. It is light weight too.One thing that would be nice is 3 speeds.For those of us who can't afford a $400 dryer, the Laifen Swift is great option.

I have wanted a compact dryer for some time. I didn't want to pay $500 for one of the 'really nice' ones. Well, I saw this one and decided to take a chance on it since it was about half the price of the other ones. I figured it would be ok and would get me by until I could afford one of the 'other' ones. Let me say, I will NOT be purchasing any other dryer!! This dryer is fantastic. I absolutely love it. It's quiet and light weight. Also, the WAY it dries is very different. I've never been able to just dry my hair and go. I've always had to use a straightener to make it less frizzy. This dryer takes that frizz away. I'm absolutely shocked. I now dry my hair using a styling brush and I don't need to straighten it afterwards. I'm very impressed with this dryer. I truly feel it's more impressive than the more expensive ones like Shark and Dyson.

UPDATE: Changing my review from 2 stars to 4. I was able to reach out to customer service from their website because my dryer was still under warranty. They were extremely helpful. I sent a video of the dryer not working having plugged it in, and without hesitation they sent me a new one. It arrived the following day. Works fantastic. Fingers crossed I just had a faulty one. I would give this 5 stars if the cord was at least 9ft. The current length is still too short for me. I hope they do come out with a longer cord one. I’d like to get a second one for my hair kit when I work. But it’s not ideal for working on other people’s hair with a short cord.Original: I bought this in October, super excited about it. Worked well when it worked. I only used it for 3 months before it just stopped working. We since moved and it’s been chaotic, so I’m just now getting around to reviewing this. The other downside to this dryer is how short the cable is. 6 feet sounds like enough, but it’s really not.Super bummed. Wanted to like this, but I should’ve just bought the Dyson.

Love this dryer, but it does have a strange smell. I had the same brand before this and I accidentally blew it up using it in Europe. So I bought this one. The cord has some blocky thing on it, that I'm sure is good and useful, but it is bulkier and this one has a strange smell to it when I'm using it.

This blow dryer only lasted 9 months. It no longer blows hot air. It cost me $200 and I have gotten the protection plan or returned it when I noticed some problems. So if you really want this blow dryer get yourself the protection plan. The blow dryer always did blow too hot on the highest setting and it would leave the diffuser attachment too hot to the touch I had to leave it on till it cooled. Also, I felt that the warm setting was not warm enough and this is the reason I would use the hot setting. I had a used Dyson before this one and lasted me 4 years so I am familiar with what the temperatures should be and how long they should last. I probably should have gone with a Dyson again. So disappointed.

I have curly hair and was looking for a dryer with a good diffuser and wouldn’t fry my hair. I had previously used a Sally Beauty ion dryer that was a Dyson dupe. It was ok, but hot, and then it blew up. Then while researching my next dryer I used my daughters Shark, which I liked overall, but SOOOOO Hot! I had to always us cold shot to cool my scalp.I read reviews on the Laifen, and was really keen on the hot/cold cycling feature, and that it had a cool setting. At the price, and being on sale, I decided to take a chance.I’m really happy I did! It’s been wonderful. The temp cycling is awesome, the diffuser works great, it’s powerful and light. Much lighter than the shark. The cools setting is great for me.My only complaint is I would like a longer cord. It’s much shorter than I’m used to and it would be nice to add a foot or two.If you are thinking about this dryer, go for it. It’s worth it and much cheaper than the competition!
